BIG EAST Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week
Matt Bishop, Xavier, Sr.
The senior went undefeated in singles action this past week as Xavier matched up against BIG EAST opponent, Georgetown and  William & Mary. Versus the Hoyas, Bishop claimed the No. 1 singles match over Peter Beatty 7-6(3), 6-0. Paired with Gabriel Araujo, he also seized the No. 1 doubles spot versus Beatty and Jordan Portner 7-5. Against William & Mary, the veteran was the only Musketeer to win his singles match, 7-5, 7-5.  

BIG EAST Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week
Darby Rosette, Creighton, Jr.
Rosette finished last week 3-0 in singles play, including two three-set victories. The Portland, Ore. native’s 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (5) win at No. 4 singles clinched Creighton’s 4-3 victory over South Dakota. She also won 6-1, 2-6, 6-1 against North Dakota’s Sophie Allen-Fisher during Creighton’s 6-1 win over the Fighting Hawks. In doubles action, Rosette paired with Ashley Ishimura for a 2-1 record at the top doubles positions during the Bluejays' 3-0 weekend.

Notable Performances
Paula Tormos, Marquette, Jr.
Tormos went 2-1 at No. 2 singles with wins at UC Riverside and CSUN before falling to Xavier.
Michal Matson, Seton Hall, Fr.
Matson was part of a doubles team that clinched the point at the No. 3 flight, and picked up a 7-5, 6-3 victory at the No. 3 singles spot as the Pirates swept Villanova, 7-0.
Stefan Suarez, Villanova, Fr.
The rookie helped push Villanova past Delaware 5-2, by winning both his singles and doubles match last week.  Paired with Mike Czlonka at the No. 3 doubles spot, the rookie clinched the doubles point for the Wildcats while her rallied for a 6-4, 6-7, 0-7 win in the No.2 singles spot.
