Seton Hall's Delgado, Marquette's Howard Take Weekly MBB Honors
NEW YORK – Seton Hall forward Angel Delgado has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Marquette guard Markus Howard has been picked BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Both players led their teams to 2-0 weeks and both squads finished 10-8 in the final league standings.
BIG EAST Player of the Week
Angel Delgado, Seton Hall, F, Jr.
Delgado extended his consecutive double-double streak to 12, while helping the Pirates defeat Georgetown 62-59 and Butler 70-64. In the win at Butler on Saturday, the junior forward recorded 20 points and 16 rebounds while shooting 9-of-12 from the floor as the Pirates rallied from a 10-point deficit in the second half. Against Georgetown, he scored the go-ahead basket with 1:12 to play and finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Delgado is averaging 15.7 points and his 13.1 rebound mark leads the nation.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Markus Howard, Marquette, G, Fr.
Howard earns Freshman of the Week honors for the third time this season after averaging 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in a pair of wins. In a 91-83 victory against Creighton on Saturday, he posted 18 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. Howard had 15 points and six rebounds in a 95-84 win at Xavier. For the season, Howard is averaging 13.1 points and leads the BIG EAST in 3-point shooting at 55.1 percent.

Khyri Thomas, Creighton, G, So.
Averaged 18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in a 1-1 week. Scored a career-high 23 points at Marquette.
Jajuan Johnson, Marquette, G, Sr.
Averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in a 2-0 week. Had 20 points in a 91-83 win over Creighton.
Emmitt Holt, Providence, F, Jr.
In a 2-0 week, averaged 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and shot 61.1 percent from the field. Scored 14 points against DePaul (73-64) and at St. John’s (86-75).
Trevon Bluiett, Xavier, G, Jr.
Averaged 19.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Had 24 points and 10 rebounds in a 79-65 win at DePaul.
Josh Hart, Villanova, G, Sr.
In an 81-55 victory at Georgetown, had 21 points, six rebounds and three assists.
