BIG EAST Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Amos Bartelsmeyer, Georgetown, Sr., Middle Distance (St. Louis, Mo.)
Georgetown senior Amos Bartelsmeyer finished third in the 1,500-meter run at the George Mason Spring Invitational. He was running the 1,500-meter race for the first time since the 2015 season. His time tops the BIG EAST and ranks 19th in the East Region and 35th nationally. Bartelsmeyer ran one of three times from that weekend that top the BIG EAST list in their respective event, joining him was fellow Hoya Joe White who ran the league’s fastest 400-meter dash.
 
BIG EAST Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
William Wolf, Marquette, Jr., Jumps (Gig Harbor, Wash.)
Senior jumper William Wolf set a personal-best and placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 14.54 meters at the Marquette Duals. His jump ranks second in the BIG EAST this season, 58th in the West Region. He also turned in a seson-best in the high jump with a height of 1.81 meters, which ranks fourth in the league.
 
BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Emma Keenan, Georgetown, Sr., Middle Distance (Gwynedd Valley, Pa.)
Senior Hoya Emma Keenan finished as the runner up at the George Mason Spring Invitational 800-meter race with a time of 2:07.55. Her time is third-fastest in the BIG EAST, with the first two taken up by Villanova’s Siofra Cleirigh Buttner and Angel Piccirillo. Keenan’s time is ranks 22nd in the East Region and 37th nationally.
 
BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Dylan Marshall, DePaul, Fr., Throws (Mount Carmel, Ill.)
DePaul rookie Dylan Marshall won her first event of the season by taking the top spot in the javelin at the Benedictine NCAA Challenge. She marked a height of 43.49 meters to win, besting her previous personal best by more than three meters. Marshall leadst the conference in the event and ranks 98th nationally and 51st in the West. She also set personal bests in the hammer and shot put at the event.
 
BIG EAST Notable Performances
  • Butler’s Allie Vogeler won the 200-meter race with a time of 25.28 at the Marian Knight Open, a Butler record, breaking the previous mark of 25.97 by Kelly Davidson in 2012.
  • DePaul thrower Kyle Hedge won the men’s shot put event at the Benedictine NCAA Challenge after throwing a distance of 15.97 meters. Hedge currently leads the league in the event, but this current mark would also be first in the BIG EAST.
  • Marquette’s Bridget Bodee recorded a win in the high jump at the Marquette duals with a height of 1.66 meters. Her jump leads the BIG EAST and is 79th in the West.
  • Veronica Scott of Villanova ran the fastest time in the league in the 400-meter hurdles with a finish of 1:00.87 at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational. Her time ranks 54th in the East and 95th in the nation. It was a personal best.
