Villanova’s Lawrence Selected Louisville Slugger NFCA National Division I Pitcher of the Week

Louisville, Ky. – Villanova senior Brette Lawrence was named the Louisville Slugger NFCA National Division I Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the NFCA in a press release Tuesday.
Lawrence went 5-0 last week with a 0.76 ERA. She pitched in three complete games, including two complete-game shutouts. Lawrence struck out 21 batters, allowed just three walks, and held opponents to a .194 batting average.
In Sunday’s win against St. John’s, Lawrence threw her first career perfect game, becoming only the third Villanova softball player to accomplish the feat. She joins Shannon Williams (April 8, 2004) and Theresa Hornick (March 7, 2001) in the prestigious club.
