NEW YORK – The final BIG EAST men’s lacrosse weekly honors were awarded to Denver’s Ethan Walker and Villanova’s Danny Sweeney and Connor Kirst.
 
BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Ethan Walker, Denver, Fr., A (Peterborough, Ontario)
Denver freshman attacker Ethan Walker tallied seven points against Marquette in a 16-8 victory that secured Denver’s fourth-straight outright BIG EAST regular-season title. Marquette entered the week with the 13-best scoring defense in the country.  Walker completing his eighth hat trick inside 17 minutes, helping Denver take a 7-2 lead. Walker scored a total of four goals with three assists. His fourth goal made the Denver lead 13-6. During Denver’s current six-game winning streak, Walker has tallied 35 points.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Danny Sweeney, Villanova, Sr., D (Glenelg, Md.)
Villanova defender Danny Sweeney had five ground balls and a caused turnover during Villanova’s 15-7 win over Providence to secure the No. 2 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament. Sweeney ranks 10th all-time in program history in career caused turnovers. The win marked five in a row for the Wildcats.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Connor Kirst, Villanova, Fr., M (Bernardsvile, N.J.)
Villanova freshman Connor Kirst had a well-rounded day at midfield to help the Wildcats lock up in the No. 2 seed in the league’s upcoming tournament. Kirst had a career high three goals and added an assist during Villanova’s 15-7 victory at Providence. The freshman also went 5-for-10 from the X and had a team best six ground balls. Kirst found the back of the net on every shot he took, going 3-for-3 on the day. Kirst’s goals were the second, eighth and 12th for Wildcats.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Alex Ready, Denver, So., G (Lancaster, Pa.)
Earned a win with 12 saves in goal on 19 shots in Denver’s 16-8 win over Marquette. Ready played 58 minutes between the pipes for his 11th win of the season.
Nick Marrocco, Georgetown, Jr., G (Duxbury, Mass.)
Marrocco collected 13 saves in 53:31 minutes of action and allowed just four goals (4.48 GAAvg) with a .765 save percentage in a 14-4 victory over St. John’s in the Hoyas season finale. Marrocco eclipsed the 500 career save mark in the win.
Colin Keating, Providence, So., FOS (Ridgewood, N.J.)
Keating went 15-for-23 at the faceoff X with seven ground balls and one caused turnover in the Friars’ 15-7 loss to Villanova.
Joe Dunn, Marquette, Sr., A (West Chester, Pa.)
Scored a hat trick for the Golden Eagles in a 16-8 loss to No. 2 Denver.
Christian Cuccinello, Villanova, Jr., A (Mountain Lakes, N.J.)
Cuccinello had a team-best seven points during Villanova’s 15-7 victory over Providence. Cuccinello had a hat trick and four assists as he scored the first, third and ninth goals for Villanova.
