NEW YORK  –  Two weekends remain in BIG EAST baseball before the conference tournament. Seton Hall has one series left, playing at Villanova; Xavier plays at St. John’s and Butler plays at Georgetown. Weather has forced schedule changes around the league. Keep up to date on twitter and on BIGEAST.com.

SERIES NOTES
XAVIER at ST. JOHN’S
Xavier visits Queens for a three-game series against St. John’s, who has maintained a top 20 ranking. The Red Storm won two at Georgetown last week and are in third place with an 8-4 record. Xavier is in second at 7-3 and is coming off a bye weekend against Indiana. St. John’s will play the next six games at home to close the league slate, Xavier this week and Villanova in the closing weekend. Xavier hosts Georgetown in the final series. Weather depending, the BIG EAST’s prime pitchers will be on display as Zac Lowther and Sean Mooney will go head-to-head on Friday in the first game. Mooney leads the country in WHIP (0.75) and is second in ERA (1.07). Lowther had a near perfect game against Villanova in the first weekend of the league season and boasts 3.05 ERA. Projected rain forced a schedule change as the Red Storm and Musketeers will play a doubleheader on Friday, no game Saturday and a finale on Sunday.

BUTLER at GEORGETOWN
Georgetown and Butler have a series win in common;  the Hoyas and Bulldogs both have 2-1 series victories over Villanova. Other than the Wildcats, both teams are looking for their second series wins. Butler is coming off their Wildcat win and Georgetown is coming off a series loss against St. John’s. The Bulldogs have won five of their last six games to improve their overall record to 28-17, a win total that doubles the amount of victories they earned one year ago. Georgetown is coming off an 8-5 victory over UMES. Weather postponed Friday’s game. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday with the series opener on Saturday.

SETON HALL at VILLANOVA
The series between Villanova and Seton Hall is a key one for both teams. Seton Hall is currently in fourth place in the standings 7-8 with three games left. Villanova has six games left, including a series at St. John’s to close out the season. Standout pitchers Hunter Schryver (Villanova) and Cullen Dana (Seton Hall) will face eacother in the second game. Seton Hall is coming off a series loss against Creighton, a close series where each game came down to one run. In midweek action, the Pirates shutout Rider 9-0. Villanova is 76-100 all-time record against Seton Hall. Villanova has a 38-59 BIG EAST record against Seton Hall and a 3-4 BIG EAST Championship record.

Creighton - Bye Weekend
Creighton hosts McNeese State in the Bluejays bye weekend. Creighton has qualified for the league tournament based on winning percentage.  Creighton sits at first place with a 10-3 record. The Bluejays play at Butler for the season-finale.
