BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Franny Cerny, DePaul, Jr., F
Cerny netted the first hat trick in the BIG EAST this season with a trio of goals in Sunday’s 4-0 win over William & Mary. The Blue Demons went 2-0 on the weekend, including a 1-0 victory over RV Pepperdine, with Cerny totaling six points and five shots. Through eight matches, Cerny leads DePaul in points (11), tallying a team-best five goals while dishing out one assist.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Jenna Staudt, Georgetown, Jr., D
Staudt led the No. 15-ranked Georgetown defense to back-to-back shutouts over the weekend, highlighted by a 0-0 draw with No. 14 Rutgers on Sunday. The Hoyas held an impressive 47-5 advantage in shots on the week, including 20-3 on goal, along with a 22-3 edge in corner kicks. Staudt helped keep the Scarlet Knights off the board for the first time this season, as Rutgers entered the match averaging over three goals per contest. The Hoyas topped St. Francis (Pa.) on Friday, 5-0, limiting the Red Flash to just one shot.
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Hannah Luedtke, Butler, R-So., GK
Luedtke led the Bulldogs to a banner win at No. 10 Texas A&M on Friday night, denying all five shots faced to score a 2-0 win in College Station. Butler’s fifth-straight shutout victory of the season bumped its overall record to 5-1-1 on the year. Additionally, Luedtke moved into sole possession of eighth place at Butler in all-time career saves (98).
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Kylie Sprecher, Marquette, Fr., F
Sprecher repeats as the league’s top rookie after totaling three points in a 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles. RV Marquette stretched its win streak to seven games, with Sprecher scoring Friday’s game-winning goal at Boston University in the 22
nd minute. She followed that with assisting on Darian Powell’s game-winning goal at Rhode Island on Sunday in the 57
th.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Katie Day, Providence, Jr., D
In a 2-0 week for the Friars, Day totaled four points off a goal and two assists, with no dish bigger than the one to Christina Klaum on Sunday’s 83
rd-minute game-winning goal against Arkansas.
Lauren Frasca, DePaul, Sr., GK
Frasca played over 170 minutes of scoreless soccer in a 2-0 weekend for the Blue Demons, making four saves in Friday’s 1-0 win over RV Pepperdine before stopping five shots in a 4-0 win over William & Mary on Sunday.
Darian Powell, Marquette, Grad., F
Powell helped spark the offense in another 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles, totaling three points off a goal and assist. The graduate student assisted on Kylie Sprecher’s game-winning goal on Friday at Boston University before scoring the game winner Sunday at Rhode Island.
Arielle Schechtman, Georgetown, Sr., GK
Schechtman posted a 1-0-1 record, denying all three shots faced in 200 minutes of action, highlighted by a shutout draw with No. 14 Rutgers on Sunday. The Scarlet Knights entered the contest averaging over three goals per game and were shut out for the first time in 2017.
Halle Stelbasky, Butler, Jr., M
Stelbasky assisted on Paige Monaghan’s game winner in the 33
rd minute at No. 10 Texas A&M on Friday night, while providing the insurance score in the 43
rd minute. The Bulldogs scored a 2-0 victory over the nationally ranked Aggies, their fifth in a row.

Westwater scored a goal in each game last week for the Musketeers, including Sunday night’s game winner in the 34
th minute against Northern Kentucky.
