Seton Hall's Nagai Takes Men's Golf Honors, Butler's Tibbets and Creighton's Eversman Share Women's Award
NEW YORK – Seton Hall’s Gen Nagai has been named BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week after a sixth-place finish in the Hartford Hawks Invitational. Butler’s Lauren Tibbets and Creighton’s Sarah Eversman shared BIG EAST Women’s Golfer of the Week honors after tying for fourth place at the Loyola Fall Invitational.
BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week
Gen Nagai, Jr., Seton Hall – Nagai shot even-par or better in all three rounds of the Hartford Hawks Invitational. The junior finished in a tie for sixth place among 116 golfers. Nagai shot rounds of 71, 69 and 72 for a total of 212. Nagai’s four-under-par total matches a career best and his sixth-place finish is the fifth top-10 finish of his career. As a team, the Pirates took second place with a three-under-par 861.
BIG EAST Female Co-Golfers of the Week
Lauren Tibbets, Jr., Butler; Sarah Eversman, Sr., Creighton – Tibbets and Eversman tied for fourth place in the Loyola Fall Invitational with 54-hole totals of 231 (+15). Tibbets shot rounds of 80, 77 and 74. The junior, who was the BIG EAST Championship medalist last spring, led the Bulldogs to a second-place team finish. Eversman carded rounds of 78, 76 and 77 to help the Bluejays finish fifth. It was Eversman’s third top-10 finish in her career.
