NEW YORK
 – Week two of BIG EAST volleyball starts on Wednesday evening as undefeated Marquette visits Xavier and DePaul plays at Butler. These four teams also had the midweek match last week as Xavier defeated DePaul in five sets and Marquette swept Butler.
 
After a dark day of BIG EAST volleyball on Thursday, all 10 teams will be in action for the weekend as travel partners Butler and Xavier visit Georgetown and Villanova. Also on the road in week two are Creighton and Providence who visit Seton Hall and St. John’s and DePaul who will play at Marquette on Saturday night.
 
No. 14 Creighton and Seton Hall will be on the BIG EAST Digital Network on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Walsh Gym in South Orange.
 
After the first week of BIG EAST play, Marquette is on top of the standings at 3-0, followed by travel partners Providence and Creighton who are both 2-0. Creighton is looking to extend its BIG EAST league winning streak to 27 on Friday night in New Jersey.

Creighton at Seton Hall
Friday’s match at Walsh Gym in South Orange, N.J., is a rematch of the 2016 BIG EAST Semifinal game. It will be Seton Hall’s BIG EAST home-opener and the first match for Creighton on the road. Creighton is one of the three unbeaten teams in the league at 2-0, while Seton Hall is 1-1 with a win over DePaul and a loss to Marquette. On the sidelines, Creighton’s Kirsten Bernthal Booth is coming off a milestone win last week as she just hit the 300-win plateau at Creighton and boasts a 300-156 record in her 15th season in Omaha. Seton Hall head coach Allison Yaeger is approaching win. No. 100 as she boasts a six-year record of 99-73. Creighton has won 26-straight BIG EAST regular season matches, a streak which ranks third in league history. Creighton leads the all-time series 7-3 but in Walsh Gym, the series is even at 2-2. On court efforts for Seton Hall are led by Dominique Mason so far in league play. Mason is second in the league in kills per set with 4.33 and points per set with 4.75. For Creighton, Jaali Winters remains their main point-getter with 3.84 points per set and 3.33 kills per set. Middle blocker Marysa Wilkinson has added 3.57 points, 3.00 kills and per set and 0.98 blocks per set. Creighton sophomore Brittany Witt earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors this week.
