NEW YORK  –  Wins by Creighton, Villanova, St. John’s and Georgetown highlighted Friday night in BIG EAST volleyball. Five matches are on the schedule for Saturday.  
 
Villanova 3, Xavier 0 (25-15,25-17,25-21)  
Villanova’s Allie Loitz finished with 12 kills, 5 digs and 4 service aces as Villanova defeats Xavier 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-21) on Friday night to open their BIG EAST home schedule. Darcy Wolf had 12 kills for 13 points on .333 hitting and libero Regan Lough had 13 digs, four assists and two aces. For Xavier Morgan Finn led with eight kills.

Creighton 3, Seton Hall 0 (26-24,25-12,25-21)  
No. 14 Creighton extended their league win streak to 27 straight matches, going back to the end of the 2015 season with a straight set win on the road at Seton Hall. The Bluejays are 3-0 in league play this year. Marysa Wilkinson led Creighton with 13 kills on .600 hitting in 20 swings. She now owns 994 kills in her quest to become the 13th Bluejay to reach 1,000 career kills. Lydia Dimke hit .571 and finished with 37 assists, six digs and five kills, while Brittany Witt paced the defense with 11 digs. Seton Hall got 10 kills and 13 digs from Dominique Mason and Thelen recorded eight kills. Sarah Kenneweg led all players with 15 digs. Seton Hall hit .229 and finished with 40 kills, 43 digs and 2.5 blocks.

St. John's 3, Providence College 0 (25-21,25-19,25-16)  
Playing its first match at Carnesecca Arena in 10 days, St. John’s cruised to a 3-0 (25-21-25-19-25-16) victory against the previously undefeated in conference play, Providence Friars to pick up its first BIG EAST win of the season on Friday night. The Red Storm (9-9, 1-2 BIG EAST) made quick work of the Friars (13-5, 2-1 BIG EAST) as the squad dominated in all facets of the game with a .333 hitting percentage, its third-highest of the season, and out blocked Providence 11.5 to four. The Johnnies also tallied six service aces, its most in the past 12 matches and collected 40 digs to the Friars’ 35. St. John’s also held the attackers of Providence to a .173 hitting percentage, including just a .026 clip in the second frame. Julia Cast led the kills for St. John’s with 16 kills. Addison Root led the kills for Providence with 14.

Georgetown 3, Butler 2 (25-19,22-25,25-19,16-25,15-13)  
Alyssa Sinnette led the Hoyas with 17 kills while Symone Speech added 13 and both Olivia King and Madison Smith  chipped in eight. Paige McKnight posted her eighth double-double of the season with 43 assists and 17 digs, both match highs. Defensively, Kenzie Higareda  also notched double-digit digs with 16 while Aima Eichie put down five blocks at net. It was Georgetown’s sixth-straight five-set match. Anna Logan led Butler with 17 kills to tie the match lead with Sinnette while Whitney Beck added 16.
