NEW YORK  –
Ten games are on the schedule for the weekend. DePaul earned the first win of the weekend for BIG EAST teams with a 3-1 win over Drake. Three more games are on the schedule for Friday with Xavier at cross-town rival Cincinnati, Western Michigan at Butler and South Florida at Creighton.
 
Five teams play Saturday with Villanova visiting Loyola Maryland, a team that was receiving votes in this week’s United Soccer Coaches Poll; Harvard at Providence, No. 18 Georgetown at Connecticut, Temple at St. John’s and Saint Louis at Marquette. The weekend schedule closes out on Sunday as Seton Hall visits Penn.
 
It is the final full non-conference weekend before league play begins on Sept. 16. There will be seven games played during midweek action before the first Saturday of BIG EAST fútbol begins.
 
Kick Off Notes:
  • Since last Friday, Sept. 1, the BIG EAST men’s soccer teams have played at least one game per day. The next time BIG EAST teams have a bye day is Monday, Sept. 13.
  • So far this season, BIG EAST teams are 20-17-3 against non-conference opponents.
  • The last three matches BIG EAST teams have been a part of have gone to double overtime. Seton Hall defeated Princeton on Thursday, 4-3; Villanova defeated Delaware 2-1 and St. John’s and Hofstra tied at 0-0. There have been 15 overtime matches this season; nine have gone to double overtime. Of those nine, the BIG EAST record stands at 4-2-3.

SETON HALL 4, Princeton 3 (2OT)
Down three goals with barely a half hour to play, Seton Hall (2-2-1) stormed back from a 4-3 2OT victory at Princeton. Princeton led 3-0 in the 51st minute. Andres Arcila scored the first goal for the Pirates eight minutes later. Arcila scored his second goal in the 67th minute. In the waning moments of regulation, Nick Najera headed a pass to Spencer Burkhardt who played it past the Princeton keeper to send the match to overtime. After a scoreless first period, Arcila stepped up for a free kick in the 105th minute for the game-winner. Arcila’s six-point performance was a league-best so far this season.  Full Recap
