Butler scores 2-0 win at No. 10 Texas A&M for fifth straight shutout victory.

Paige Monaghan and Halle Stelbasky each found the back of the net on Friday night to help Butler pull off a major upset against No. 10 Texas A&M. BU posted their fifth-straight shutout victory of the season against the nationally-ranked Aggies in College Station to improve to 5-1-1 on the year. The 2-0 victory is Butler's first win over a ranked opponent since the 2013 campaign. The winning goalkeeper in the upset victory was Hannah Luedtke (2-1). The redshirt sophomore made five stops to move into sole possession of eighth place at Butler in all-time career saves (98).

#15 Georgetown 5, St. Francis 0
No. 15-ranked Georgetown scored four times in the second half and cruised to a 5-0 win over St. Francis (Pa.) on Friday afternoon at Shaw Field. It was the second-straight win, and the fifth in the last six games for the Hoyas, who improve to 5-2-0 overall. St. Francis (Pa.) falls to 2-4-0. The game was a rematch of a first round NCAA Tournament game won by Georgetown last year (2-0). And like last year’s game, the Hoyas led 1-0 at the half. But this time, the Blue & Gray exploded for four goals in the second half and peppered the Red Flash with 20 shots en route to the win. Sophomore midfielder Paula Germino-Watnick led the way with two goals and an assist.

DePaul 1, RV Pepperdine 0
DePaul made its home debut on Friday afternoon in heroic fashion as the Blue Demons edged Pepperdine, which is receiving votes nationally, 1-0 at Wish Field. Freshman Morgan Turner netted the lone goal of the match, recording her first collegiate career score.  Two minutes before halftime, Turner intercepted a defensive deflection and fired a quick shot past the Pepperdine keeper for the 1-0 lead.

RV Marquette 1, Boston University 0
Marquette’s lone shot of the night proved to be the difference as Kylie Sprecher’s 24th-minute goal lifted the women’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Boston University on Friday night despite a 25-1 shot disparity. Sophomore goalkeeper Maddy Henry earned her third clean sheet of the year with seven saves and the Marquette defense held its opponent off the board for a fifth straight match. The Golden Eagles (6-1) have won each of their last six matches and have not surrendered a goal since a 2-1 win over Kentucky on Aug. 20.

St. John’s 2, Loyola (Md.) 1
A dominant second half and key reserve play led to a pair of Red Storm goals in the latter stanza as the St. John’s women’s soccer team defeated Loyola, 2-1, in come-from-behind fashion on Friday night at Belson Stadium. Samie Scaffidi and Mikhaila Martinov scored for the Red Storm, while redshirt freshman keeper Jordan Kamp made four saves to preserve the win.

Creighton 2, UMKC 2 (2OT)
Trailing 1-0 early in the first period, Creighton battled UMKC to a 2-2 tie on Friday in the opening match of Creighton's sixth annual Socctoberfest celebration. The Bluejays moved to 0-5-1 following Friday's action, while UMKC went to 2-4-1 on the season. Creighton scored back-to-back goals just over two minutes apart to take a 2-1 advantage before UMKC scored the equalizer in the 77th. Kaira Houser and Taryn Jakubowski netted goals for the Bluejays.

Duquesne 3, Xavier 1
Xavier fell, 3-1, at Duquesne on Friday evening. After a scoreless first half, the Dukes tallied three times to take a 3-0 lead going into the final 15 minutes before Emma Westwater scored the first of her Xavier career to cut the deficit to two. Xavier moves to 3-3-1 on the year while Duquesne moved to 3-2-0.

After a scoreless opening half, Lehigh found the back of the net in the 55th minute while keeping Villanova off the board the remainder of the contest. Emily Harris made four saves for the Wildcats while Ida DiClemente and Jasmine Ruiz were credited with two shots apiece.
