RV Marquette remains unbeaten in BIG EAST play, while St. John’s wins its third in a row.

RV/RV Marquette 77, Providence 60
A 22-12 fourth quarter helped Marquette  (11-5, 5-0 BIG EAST) extend its winning streak to five games and remain unbeaten in league action. Danielle King led four Golden Eagles in double figures with 21 points in the game. For the Friars (8-10, 1-5), Jovana Nogic led the way with 24 points to go along with five rebounds, becoming the 34th Providence player to eclipse 1,000 career points. Since BIG EAST realignment, Marquette is just the second team to open the season with a 5-0 record. DePaul started league play at 8-0 last season.

-/RV DePaul 82, Creighton 54
The Blue Demons made 10 of their first 13 from three-point range and went on to post an 82-54 victory at Creighton. DePaul (12-5, 4-1 BIG EAST) finished 14-of-26 (nearly 54 percent) from deep and was led by Ashton Millender’s 13 points, while Kelly Campbell recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds. Creighton’s Audrey Faber led all scorers with 16 points, while dishing out a team high 5 assists. Creighton scored the game’s first six points before DePaul closed the quarter on an 18-2 run and never looked back.

RV/RV Villanova 60, Georgetown 58
Villanova improved to 13-2 overall and 3-2 in BIG EAST play after holding on for a two-point win at Georgetown (7-8, 2-3 BIG EAST). Trailing 60-56 with 15 seconds to go, Georgetown raced the ball up the court as Tatiana Thompson scored on a lay-up to make it a 60-58 game with seven seconds on the clock. Villanova then inbounded the ball to Alex Louin who was fouled with 5.8 seconds remaining. After Louin missed both free throws, Dionna White dribbled down the court and got off a desperation three at the buzzer that was no good. For the game, Villanova was paced by Adrianna Hahn’s 17 points, while Georgetown’s White tallied a game-high 19 points.

St. John’s 73, Butler 55
Using a dominant fourth quarter, St. John’s recorded its third-straight win with a 73-55 wire-to-wire victory at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse. St. John’s (10-7, 3-3 BIG EAST) was led by Alisha Kebbe’s first-career double-double, as the sophomore scored a team-high 14 points while grabbing 11 rebounds. The guard also dished out four assists and recorded a trio of steals. Double-double machine Maya Singleton captured her 11th of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds; all 12 of the senior’s points came in the second half. Butler (11-6, 3-2 BIG EAST), which leads the conference in rebounding margin during BIG EAST play, was held to 29 boards for the game while the Red Storm finished with 35. Tori Schickel scored a game-high 19 points, including an 11-of-11 clip from the free-throw line, while grabbing seven rebounds to lead the Bulldogs.

Seton Hall 62, Xavier 51
Seton Hall (10-7, 2-4 BIG EAST) used a tenacious defensive effort to notch a 62-51 win at Xavier (8-8, 1-4) on Wednesday night at the Cintas Center. The Pirates forced 25 turnovers in the win and totaled 16 steals. Donnaizha Fountain led The Hall on the offensive end in the win with 17 points and tied for the game-high with seven rebounds. Deja Ross led the Musketeers with 14 points, with a perfect night from beyond the arc (4-4). Leading by five heading into the fourth, SHU held Xavier without a point for a 3:18 stretch to build an 11-point lead.
