NEW YORK – The fourth season of This Week In The BIG EAST Radio Show, distributed by Westwood One, dropped Thursday night. Episode two featured guests: DePaul head coach Dave Leitao, Providence sophomore guard Alpha Diallo and FOX Sports Senior College Basketball Coordinating Producer Steve Scheer.
 
The 2017-18 season of This Week In The BIG EAST is available for download on iTunes, Google Play and Stitcher in addition to its Westwood One Distribution. This week’s episode will also air on Sirius Satellite Radio on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. ET on Sirius 119/XM 201/App Channel 961.
 
The hosts for This Week In The BIG EAST (#TWITBE) are John Rooke, a well-known BIG EAST play-by-play voice for 30 years, and Kevin McNamara, who has covered the BIG EAST for 28 seasons at the Providence Journal and is a columnist for Basketball Times. Rooke and McNamara give a comprehensive look at the teams, coaches, players and storied tradition of the top basketball conference in America in each episode.
 
This week’s episode is all about Friday’s innovative all-access game between Providence and DePaul at Wintrust Arena. When the Friars tip off against the Blue Demons at 8:30 p.m. ET on FS1, every sound of the game will be for public consumption as the contest will be presented commercial-free with both head coaches mic’d up live. It is the first-ever commercial-free, all-access men’s basketball telecast. On the show this week, Rooke and McNamara have the BIG EAST  Spotlight on DePaul head coach Leitao, who discusses his team’s performance this season as well as the opening of the brand new home of DePaul Basketball, Wintrust Arena. The BIG EAST Focus zeroes in on Friar guard Diallo, the team’s second leading scorer. He discusses the potential of Providence this season as well as his growing role on the team. The National Perspective comes from Scheer, who has been producer for the past four BIG EAST Men’s Basketball Tournaments, from start to finish. Scheer will be in the truck for Friday’s game. He will be discussing the innovative new way FOX will be covering BIG EAST basketball this season.
 
The episode’s “Who’s Hot” segment features audio clips from some recent big performances around the league and a recap of the league’s weekly honors. “Who’s got next?” takes a look at the upcoming schedule, highlighting the big matchups.
