Both led teams to 3-0 records as Allazia Blockton averaged 20.7 points and Qadashah Hoppie was the league’s top-scoring rookie.

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Allazia Blockton, Marquette, Jr., G
Blockton led the first-place Golden Eagles to a 3-0 mark last week by averaging 20.7 points off .585 shooting, and adding 4.3 rebounds. The junior’s week was highlighted by a 25-point outing against Butler on Friday night, which was capped by sinking the game-winning layup as time expired to keep MU unbeaten. Blockton shot 50 percent or better in all three victories, maintaining her spot as the BIG EAST’s top scorer both overall (19.8) and in conference play (22.1). Marquette’s 7-0 start to league play is its finest in program history and the second-best by any BIG EAST team since conference realignment. Blockton becomes the first to repeat as BIG EAST Player of the Week this season with her fourth career honor.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Qadashah Hoppie, St. John’s, Fr., G
Hoppie led the Red Storm to a 3-0 record last week as the league’s top rookie scorer, averaging 12.7 points while adding 2.0 assists. The freshman guard led St. John’s in scoring in its first two games of the week with 14 points in a win at Butler and 15 in a home victory over Georgetown. She shot nearly 42 percent from the field and 50 percent from deep. St. John’s has won five straight BIG EAST games, its longest streak since the 2013-14 campaign. This is Hoppie’s second BIG EAST Freshman of the Week certificate.
