BIG EAST Spring Olympic Sports Schedules Feature 16 National TV Broadcasts
NEW YORK – The BIG EAST spring Olympic sports schedule features 16 contests that will be broadcast to a national television audience. The BIG EAST’s broadcast partner, FOX Sports, will carry eight contests spanning four Olympic sports: men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, baseball and softball.
Three of the BIG EAST Championship finals will be air on FS2 with the three-game BIG EAST softball championship covered entirely on FS2. All BIG EAST Championships are presented by Jeep.
FOX’s BIG EAST Olympic sports coverage will start on Wednesday, April 11 when FS1 carries the Notre Dame at Marquette men’s lacrosse contest. FS1 will also air the Seton Hall at Creighton baseball game on Friday, May 4, a rematch of Game 2 of the 2017 BIG EAST Baseball Championship.
All of FOX’s broadcasted games will be available on FOX’s mobile platform, the FOX Sports Go app, also home to the BIG EAST’s 225 BIG EAST Digital Network events. The spring schedule for BEDN, presented by SoFi, will be announced the week of Jan. 22.
CBS Sports Network picks up all three games of the BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Championship in addition to one regular season men’s lacrosse contest and four regular season baseball games. The men’s lacrosse championship semifinals start with a doubleheader at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 at Villanova, Pa. The championship game will air on the network for the first time on Saturday, May 5 at 2 p.m. CBSSN has carried the men’s lacrosse semifinals for the last two years.
CBSSN’s coverage starts April 11 as well with Kansas traveling to TD Ameritrade Park Omaha for a non-league baseball contest against Creighton. CBSSN will also pick up the Bluejays’ non-conference home games against Nebraska on Tuesday, May 8 and Cal on Friday, May 18. The Friday night game between Cal and Creighton (7 p.m. ET) will be the second game of a CBSSN doubleheader with St. John’s hosting Butler on the network at 4 p.m. ET.
As other conference’s release their television schedules, additional televised games may be added.
Additionally, Denver men’s and women’s lacrosse will be featured on the Altitude Sports and Entertainment TV, the official television network of the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Mammoth and Colorado Rapids. Altitude on Dish Network, nationwide is Channel 413 and 681 on DirectTV.
Marquette home men’s and women’s lacrosse contests not picked up by national television or the BIG EAST Digital Network may be picked up regionally by Spectrum Sports Wisconsin.
St. John’s will also carry contests for men’s lacrosse, softball and baseball on the ESPN3 platform through SJU TV. The Red Storm’s ESPN3 schedule has yet to be announced.
