Butler’s Tori Schickel averages 22.0 points, 10.3 rebounds in 3-0 week for the Bulldogs, including first top-25 win since 1998.

In a 3-0 week for the Bulldogs, Schickel averaged 22.0 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and .667 shooting. The junior sparked Butler to its first win over a top-25 opponent since 1998 with 26 points off 10-of-11 shooting, seven rebounds and six assists in Tuesday’s win over then-No. 21 Villanova. Schickel followed that with a monster performance at Georgetown of 28 points and 15 boards, before ending the week with 12 points, nine rebounds and three steals in Sunday’s victory over Seton Hall. This is the first Player of the Week certificate for Butler this season and Schickel’s third career honor.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Chanell Williams, Providence, Fr., G
Williams averaged 11.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 50-percent shooting for the Friars last week, including a 16-point, six-rebound outing at Seton Hall. The rookie guard led Providence to its first win over St. John’s in more than 10 years, halting a run of 14-straight victories by the Red Storm, with 10 points, four dimes and .667 shooting. Williams becomes the first BIG EAST Freshman of the Week out of Friartown since Sarah Beal on March 6, 2014.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Jaylyn Agnew, Creighton, So., F
Agnew averaged 15.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and .528 shooting last week for the Bluejays, including 17 points and six boards against BIG EAST-leader Marquette on Sunday.
Allazia Blockton, Marquette, Jr., G
Blockton led the first-place Golden Eagles, who are off to their first 4-0 start in BIG EAST history, to two wins last week over teams coming off 2017 NCAA Tournament appearances. The junior guard averaged 22.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and .600 shooting in victories over RV DePaul (25 points, 12 rebounds) and Creighton (20 points, six rebounds) – Marquette’s first win in Omaha in eight tries.
Mart’e Grays, DePaul, Jr., F
Grays averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 50-percent shooting in a pair of road games last week, including 19 points off 8-of-16 shooting at Marquette.
Maddie Jolin, Providence, Jr., G
Jolin sparked the Providence offense with 15.7 points and .533 shooting, including a .529 clip from deep. The junior reached the 20-point mark for the second time this season with 20 against RV DePaul on Sunday, adding a career-best five steals.
Maya Singleton, St. John’s, Sr., F
Singleton sparked the Red Storm to a 2-1 week by averaging a double-double of 11.0 points and 13.7 rebounds, including 16 points and 14 boards in Sunday’s win at Xavier. The senior recorded a double-double against Providence on Friday as well with 13 points and 18 boards.
