NEW YORK – Villanova’s Abby Siana, who helped the Wildcats grab the final BIG EAST Championship berth on the last day of the league’s regular season, has been named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week.  Connecticut’s Cecile Pieper has been tabbed BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week.  Liberty’s Alivia Klopp has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week.     

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Abby Siana, Villanova, Jr., F/M (Chester Springs, Pa.)

In a winner-take-all match at Old Dominion, Siana scored both Villanova goals in a 2-1 shootout victory.  In the penalty shootout, her goal was the deciding tally that propelled the Wildcats to the fourth spot at the BIG EAST Championship ahead of the Monarchs.  In regulation play, she notched her sixth goal of the season.   
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Cecile Pieper, Connecticut, Sr., B (Mannheim, Germany)
Pieper helped Connecticut hold both of its opponents to just one goal in a 2-0 weekend.  In a 4-1 victory at Georgetown, Pieper helped the Husky defense hold the Hoyas to just one shot, which was a penalty stroke.  In a 5-1 triumph at American, Pieper helped limit the Eagles to five shots and three corners.  The senior also contributed offensively with a goal and an assist against Georgetown and three goals at American.    
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Alivia Klopp, Liberty, Fr., F (Bernville, Pa.)
Klopp tallied the first goal in a 4-0 shutout at Providence in the battle for the No. 2 seed at this week’s BIG EAST Championship, which will be hosted by Liberty.  She scored in the 24th minute.  It was Klopp’s third game-winning goal of the season.  She leads all Liberty freshmen with six goals and 13 points and has recorded four of her six tallies in BIG EAST play.      
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Svea Boker, Connecticut, Jr., F (Bremen, Germany)
Boker rolled up eight points in a 2-0 weekend.  In a 4-1 victory at Georgetown, she had two assists.  In a 5-1 decision over American, she scored twice and added two assists.  This season, Boker is second on the squad with 14 goals and 14 assists for 42 points.
 
Agueda Moroni, Liberty, Sr., M/F (Cordoba, Argentina)
Moroni closed out the Lady Flames’ regular season with two goals and an assist in a 4-0 victory at Providence which assured Liberty of the second seed at The BIG EAST Championship ahead of the third-seeded Friars.  Moroni is tied for the national lead in goals with 25 while continuing to lead the country in goals per game (1.47) and points per game (3.59).
 
Amanda Blum, Quinnipiac, Jr., F (Langhorne, Pa.)
Blum sparked Quinnipiac to a 2-0 weekend with three goals.  She scored a pair in a 5-2 win at Temple on Friday.  In a 4-3 overtime victory at Holy Cross in the Bobcats’ season finale on Sunday, Blum tied the game with 37.3 seconds remaining in regulation to force the extra period.  The Bobcats ended the year with a three-game winning streak.
