Providence picks up a pair of honors as Colin Miller and Gil Santos collect weekly certificates.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Samson Sergi, Xavier, R-Jr., F
Sergi posted a BIG EAST-best five points in a 1-0-1 week for the Musketeers. In Tuesday’s 3-3 draw against Santa Clara, the redshirt-junior scored Xavier’s second goal before assisting on Felix Boe-Tangen’s game-tying score in the 84th minute. In Saturday’s win over Villanova, Sergi scored the game winner in the fifth minute to give the Musketeers their second BIG EAST victory of the season.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Dylan Nealis, Georgetown, Jr., M/D
Nealis led the Hoyas defense to a second consecutive BIG EAST shutout, topping Butler on Friday, 2-0. The Bulldogs were limited to just two shots on goal, while Nealis also added the game-winning goal in the 18th minute.
 
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Colin Miller, Providence, R-Sr., GK
Miller picked up his fourth shutout of the year, second in BIG EAST play, with four saves against Marquette on Saturday. The redshirt-senior made three second-half saves as the Golden Eagles ripped eight shots over the final 45 minutes.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Gil Santos, Providence, Fr., F
Santos provided the heroics on Saturday for the Friars, heading home the game-winning goal in the 90th minute to boost Providence over visiting Marquette. The game winner was the second of the season for the rookie. Santos has played just three BIG EAST games this season but leads the league in points with seven and goals per game (1.00) and is tied for the lead in total goals with three.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Cameron Belle, Xavier, R-Fr., M
Belle had an assist in each game last week. Against Santa Clara on Tuesday, the redshirt-freshman assisted on Samson Sergi’s goal in the 30th minute, before dishing on Sergi’s game winner against Villanova on Saturday.
Younes Boudadi, Creighton, Jr., D
In a 1-1 week for the Bluejays, Boudadi helped Creighton outshoot both opponents by a combined 41-12 margin, including 17-6 on goal. The Bluejays outshot No. 5 Denver 25-8 and BIG EAST foe St. John’s 16-4, while Boudadi also added a goal in Saturday’s win over the Red Storm.
Luis Barraza, Marquette, Sr., GK
Barraza was a wall for nearly 90 minutes at Providence on Saturday, making a career-high 10 saves until the Friars finally broke through with 16 seconds left in regulation. The double-digit save outing bumped the Marquette senior’s BIG EAST-best average to 5.25 stops per contest.
Jared Timmer, Butler, R-Jr., M
Timmer scored both second-half goals for the visiting Bulldogs in Tuesday night’s 2-2 tie at Evansville. Both of the scores came as Butler played a man down. He added four shots against Georgetown on Friday.
Kyle Zajec, Georgetown, Sr., M
Zajec had a goal and assist in the Hoyas’ 2-0 win at Butler on Friday. The senior assisted on Dylan Nealis’ game winner in the 18th minute before adding an insurance score off a penalty kick in the 53rd.
