DePaul’s Ashton Millender drops 27 against No. 1/1 Notre Dame, while Butler remains undefeated with large-margin win over Western Illinois in 2-2 weekend for BIG EAST teams.

The Pirates fell behind by seven after a quarter, but dug in for a tight second frame to go into the half down 41-31. The Hall went ice cold in the third quarter, scoring only six points in the frame and seeing UCLA's lead balloon to as many as 26 early in the third. The Hall again fought back and got as close as 12 in the final stanza before ultimately succumbing. The Pirates outscored the Bruins 25-21 in the fourth quarter. Three Pirates finished in double-figures on the day, led by a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double from Shadeen Samuels. Sunday’s setback was the first of the season for SHU, which stands at 4-1 on the year.

1/1 Notre Dame 101, 15/15 DePaul 77
Ashton Millender and Chante Stonewall put on brilliant shooting display Saturday at Wintrust Arena, but it wasn't enough to overcome the inside strength of No. 1/1 Notre Dame in a 101-77 setback. Millender tied a career high with 27 points while Stonewall set a career high with 21 points for No. 15/15 DePaul (1-1). Stonewall added a team-high eight rebounds. The Blue Demons led 29-22 after the first quarter, but the reigning national champs posted a 32-point second quarter to lead by seven at halftime. The Fighting Irish had the hot hand, shooting nearly 60 percent (.597) on the afternoon.

Butler 92, Western Illinois 51
Butler improved to 3-0 on Saturday afternoon with a 92-51 win over Western Illinois at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Twelve of the 13 Bulldogs that played scored at least one point and the Bulldogs would finish the contest shooting 53 percent from the field as a team. Butler jumped out to a 20-8 lead after the first quarter and would enjoy a 38-16 advantage at the half. The lead would grow to 41 points near the end of the third quarter with BU winning that frame 28-11. Butler tallied 92 on the afternoon, the highest scoring output under fifth-year head coach Kurt Godlevske. Tori Schickel was one of five Bulldogs to hit double figures in scoring, registering 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting.

Xavier 48, Fairfield 35
Sophomore forward A'riana Gray scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds - her second double-double of the year - on Saturday afternoon, leading Xavier to a 48-35 win over Fairfield. The Musketeers moved to 3-1 on the year, while the Stags dropped to 2-1. The Musketeers led wire-to-wire, holding Fairfield to just two points in the first quarter. XU shot .426 on the afternoon while holding the Stags to just a .220 clip.

Georgetown will look to bounce back from its first loss of the season when it hosts Pittsburgh on Monday night at 7 p.m. ET.
