			BIG EAST teams recorded a 3-0 Tuesday with St. John’s continuing its undefeated start while Providence and Marquette both improved to 5-2 with victories at home.
St. John’s is 6-0 for the first time since the 2009-10 season after defeating Md.-Eastern Shore 85-64 at Carnesecca Arena.  Sophomore transfer L.J. Figueroa continued to impress, recording game highs of 25 points and 13 rebounds for his second double-double of the year.  Mustapha Heron added 20 points and nine boards.
Providence beat Fairleigh Dickinson 69-59 behind the customary production from Alpha Diallo.  The junior guard had 20 points and nine rebounds.  Isaiah Jackson added 11 points.  The Friars, who never trailed in the game, continue to start three freshmen.   
Markus Howard’s strong all-around play and help from the bench helped Marquette handle Charleston Southern 76-55.  Howard finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.  The Golden Eagles got double-digit scoring performances from three reserves – Joseph Chartouny (13 points), Brendan Bailey (10) and Ed Morrow (10).  Chartouny also had six assists and seven steals.
The Wednesday schedule includes four BIG EAST squads all playing at home.  FS1 has a doubleheader that starts at 6:30 p.m. with Xavier hosting Miami, Ohio.  The two teams will meet for the 102nd time.  The Musketeers have won 11 of the last 14 matchups.  The second game on FS1 at 8:30 p.m. has Creighton hosting Montana, the Big Sky’s representative in last year’s NCAA Tournament.  Bluejay guard Ty-Shon Alexander is averaging 19.2 points per game and leads the BIG EAST with an average of 3.8 3-pointers made per game.
Georgetown hosts Richmond at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.  The Hoyas (5-1) won 82-76 in last year’s meeting on the road.  DePaul hosts Cleveland State at 8 p.m. on FS2.  Guard Eli Cain leads the BIG EAST in assists (6.0) and assist/turnover ratio (4.8).  Max Strus ranks second in scoring at 21.5.
