After a back-and-forth opening five minutes, Villanova went on an 8-1 run to lead by six. The Wildcats never trailed again, leading by as many as 24 to improve to 4-2 on the season. Mary Gedaka notched her first double-double of the season with 15 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, while Adrianna Hahn led all scorers with 17 points. The win marks head coach Harry Perretta 750th career win who is now 750-465 in 41 years as the Wildcat head coach.

22/17 Marquette 83, Milwaukee 74
Allazia Blockton and Natisha Hiedeman set the tone early on, combining for 19 of Marquette's 25 first-quarter points to spot the Golden Eagles (5-1) a 12-point advantage. MU led the rest of the way as Blockton finished with a game-high 28 points, while Hiedeman chipped in 17 to go along with six rebounds and four assists. The two would go on to set two significant records as well. Blockton's buzzer-beating 3-pointer to end of the first quarter tied Julie Sievers ('83) 35-year-old record of 721 made field goals and, with 3:12 remaining in the first half, surpassed the mark. The Milwaukee native ended the contest 11-for-19 from the field, including 4-for-5 from long range, and is just 49 points from breaking Marquette's all-time scoring record of 1,940 points currently held by Krystal Ellis ('09). Hiedeman, who entered the game just two 3-pointers shy of tying Lori Goerlitz's ('95) record, did so on her first attempt of the second quarter. The Green Bay native also made four triples as the Golden Eagles converted 10-of-19 3-point attempts as a team.

24/24 Drake 85, Creighton 69
Despite 20 points from Temi Carda, the Bluejays fell to nationally ranked Drake on Wednesday afternoon. Trailing by seven at the half and by as many as 13 in the second quarter, Creighton rallied in the third to take the lead. The game remained a two-possession contest thorugh the third quarter, but the Bulldogs used a 27-14 fourth to spoil Creighton’s upset bid. Audrey Faber joined Carda in double figures with 11 points.

2/2 UConn 99, 16/14 DePaul 63
Playing their fifth game in seven days, the No. 16/14 Blue Demons were victimized by an early scoring drought in a loss to No. 2/2 Connecticut at the XL Center. Ashton Millender led the Blue Demons with 15 points while Dee Bekelja added eight. DePaul (4-3) started out strong with Millender and Tanita Allen combining to score 11 of its first 15 points. An Allen three-pointer brought the visiting team within 16-15 with 4:21 left in the first quarter. That's when the dry spell hit. For the next 9:54, the Blue Demons could not buy a basket with a number of shot attempts bouncing around the rim and out. Huskies closed out the first quarter on a 16-0 run and then scored the first eight points of the second quarter. The Blue Demons outscored UConn 27-25 in the third quarter.
