Villanova's Daly Earns Weekly Golf Honors
NEW YORK – Villanova junior Connor Daly has been named BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week in the final weekly honors of the fall season. He earned the conference accolade by taking medalist honors at the recent Metropolitan Intercollegiate in West Orange, N.J.

Connor Daly, Villanova, Jr. – Daly took first place at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate in West Orange, N.J. He carded a 71 in both rounds of the 36-hole tournament to finish with a 2-over-par 142. Villanova placed second in the 15-team field with scores of 298 and 299 for 597 (+37). The Wildcats were the only school under 300 in both rounds.
Men’s Notes – St. John’s placed fourth at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate led by Austin Briggs, who had a 5-over-par 145 (70-75). Teammate Gerald Mackeden finished at 151…Creighton took ninth place at the Homewood Hilton Garden Inn/FGCU Classic in Estero, Fla. Freshman Tucker Knaak led the Bluejays with a 238 (82-77-79), which tied for 37th. He was the best Bluejay for the fall season with a 76.23 stroke average…DePaul dropped a dual match against Loyola, Ill., in the Chi-Town Showtown at Evanston CC. The Blue Demons lost 15.5-11.5. There were three potential points in nine matchers. Grant Boyson, Carol Antonio Gatayman and Ronnie Griggs won matches for DePaul.
