BIG EAST teams go 3-0 on opening day as No. 19/19 Marquette, Seton Hall and Georgetown claim large-margin victories.

No. 19/19 Marquette 91, South Dakota State 52
Natisha Hiedeman posted a game-high 21 points as the nationally ranked Golden Eagles claimed a 91-52 home victory over South Dakota State on Tuesday afternoon. Allazia Blockton, the BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year, posted 19 points as the Golden Eagles (1-0) shot 52.3 percent (34-of-65) from the floor. MU was also 13-of-31 from 3-point range, which included five makes from Hiedeman and four from Isabelle Spingola, who ended with 14 points. Marquette led for all but 41 seconds of the contest thanks to 29 points off 24 Jackrabbit turnovers.

Seton Hall 95, Wagner 40
Victoria Cardaci led the offensive onslaught with a game-high 21 points, tying the program record for 3-pointers in a game with seven. Shadeen Samuels also had a big game for the Pirates as one of four players in double-figures, finishing with 18 points and a game-high eight rebounds. The Pirates shot 50.0 percent (33-of-66) from the field and held Wagner to a 28.8 percent (15-52) mark. Seton Hall dominated every specialty stat: points in the paint (38-14), points off turnovers (41-15), fast break points (17-0) and bench points (36-8).

Georgetown 73, Richmond 53
Seeing her first game action since the 2016-17 season, Dorothy Adomako scored a game-high 14 points off 6-12 shooting, including 2-3 from deep, as the Hoyas picked up a road win to start the year. GU led wire-to-wire as three other players joined Adomako in double figures – Dionna White (11), Mikayla Venson (11) and Morgan Smith (11). GU shot over 46 percent from the field on the night, including over 52 percent for the first three quarters.
