NEW YORK – Georgetown’s Shaw Field will see a champion crowned for a second consecutive season as the second-seeded Hoyas host fourth-seeded Marquette in Sunday’s BIG EAST Men’s Soccer Championship final. In Wednesday’s semifinal matches, GU defeated No. 3 seed Providence, 4-0, while the Golden Eagles bounced top-seeded Creighton in penalty kicks, 10-9, after finishing tied 1-1 through two overtimes Georgetown is making its second consecutive BIG EAST title game appearance and seventh showing overall, while MU is in the final for the second time and first since 2013. Sunday’s championship will air live on FS2, with coverage beginning at 2 p.m. ET.
 
Sunday’s winner receives the BIG EAST’s automatic bid into the 48-team 2018 NCAA Championship. Monday’s NCAA Selection Show is slated for 1 p.m. on NCAA.com. The Hoyas have earned NCAA invites in six of the last eight seasons, including 2017, while Marquette is aiming for the program’s fourth bid after qualifying in 1997, 2012 and 2013. The latest NCAA RPI (Nov. 4) had Georgetown at No. 16 to lead the league, while at-large contender Creighton was at No. 30.
