BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Player Of the Week

Gray earns her first career BIG EAST Player of the Week certificate after posting an impressive stat line of 18.5 points and 16.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Musketeers. She started the week with a 16-point, 18-rebound double-double in a win over Bowling Green before adding 21 points, 14 rebounds, five steals and three assists in Sunday’s overtime win over North Alabama. Gray was the league’s top rebounder last week while finishing fourth in scoring. She is tied for the BIG EAST lead with four double-doubles this season, while her 18 rebounds are the most in the conference this season.
BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Freshman Of the Week
Lexi Held, DePaul, Fr., G
In a 1-1 week for No. 16/14 DePaul, Held averaged 17.5 points off .667 shooting, including .545 clip from beyond the arc. Her week was highlighted by a 28-point outing in Monday’s win over Savannah State. She made 11-of-18 attempts from the field while adding three steals, two assists and two rebounds. Held also scored seven points, making all three attempts from the field, in the Blue Demons’ setback at No. 2/2 Connecticut on Wednesday.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Allazia Blockton, Marquette, Sr., G
Blockton was the BIG EAST’s top scorer last week, averaging 23.0 points off .567 shooting, including a 70-percent mark from deep, to go along with 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. No. 22/17 Marquette went 2-0 with wins over Milwaukee and RV/RV Michigan, as Blockton dropped a season-high 28 against the Panthers before going for 18 against the Wolverines.
Audrey Faber, Creighton, Sr., F
In a 1-1 week for the Bluejays, Faber averaged 14.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 blocks. After scoring 11 points against No. 24/24 Drake on Wednesday, the senior went for 18 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in Creighton’s win over Nebraska on Sunday. The Bluejays knocked off the rival Huskers for the third consecutive year, CU’s longest winning streak in series history.
Adrianna Hahn, Villanova, Sr., G
Hahn led the Wildcats in scoring in back-to-back wins, scoring 17 points in a home victory over Princeton on Wednesday before dropping another 17 at Saint Joseph’s on Sunday. She shot .609 from the field and added 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds.
Nicole Jimenez, Seton Hall, Sr., G
Jimenez averaged 19.0 points, 8.5 steals, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in a 2-0 week for the Pirates. Her outings were highlighted by a career-high 33 points, including a Seton Hall-Record nine threes, in Sunday’s win over Saint Peter’s.
Jovana Nogic, Providence, Sr., G
In a 3-1 week for the Friars, Nogic averaged 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals. She led Providence in scoring in the final three games of the week, reaching the 20-point mark in back-to-back games at the Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament to garner All-Tournament honors.
