The Golden Eagles never trailed to improve to 2-0 in BIG EAST play for the third consecutive season, while picking up their 11
th win overall. Even with BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year Allazia Blockton sidelined, five MU players scored in double figures, with Natisha Hiedeman going for a team-best 16 points, while Danielle King stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, eight boards and six assists. Creighton’s Jaylyn Agnew led all scorers with 17 points, while BIG EAST leading scorer Audrey Faber added 14.

Butler 59, Georgetown 50
The final of eight lead changes was in the Bulldogs’ hands as they improved to 2-0 in BIG EAST play for the first time since joining the league and bumped its overall record a conference-best 12-1. Leading by four heading into the final quarter, Butler held the host Hoyas to just six points over the final 10 minutes to seal the win. Whitney Jennings posted a game-high 23 points to lead Butler, while reigning BIG EAST Player of the Week Dionna White scored 11 and added six boards and four steals. Also of note, Dorothy Adomako was credited with seven blocks to eclipse 100 on her career.

No. 24/20 DePaul 88, Providence 62
The Blue Demons never trailed in a game which saw two rookies standout as DePaul freshman Lexi Held scored 18, including a 4-of-8 clip from deep. DePaul used a 54-point second half to pull away from the visiting Friars and earn their 10
th win of the season, despite 17 points from PC freshman Mary Baskerville. DPU’s Mart’e Grays posted game highs of 19 points and 14 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.

Villanova 75, Xavier 71
Xavier trailed by 29 with 2:39 left in the third quarter before going on a 33-7 run over the next 10 minutes to make it a one-possession game, 66-63, with 2:21 left. XU got as close as two, 68-66, with 58 seconds left, but Kelly Jekot buried a dagger of a three-pointer to bump the Wildcats’ lead back up to two possessions. Villanova held on the rest of the way as Adrianna Hahn and Jekot sank free-throws down the stretch. Jekot finished with a game-high 23 points while Hahn added 19. The Musketeers were led by Na’Teshia Owens’ 19 points, while Princess Stewart chipped in 17.
