Georgetown and DePaul recorded double-digit victories on their home floors on Monday.  Both have important Saturday road games up next.

Georgetown pulled away from Liberty in the second half to post an 88-78 victory at the Capital One Arena.  The Hoyas began the second half with a 31-8 run.  Jessie Govan had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Freshman James Akinjo scored a team-high 19 points.  The Hoyas (7-1) play at Syracuse on Saturday.

DePaul got a season-high 16 points from forward Femi Olujobi in a 65-50 victory against Florida A&M in Wintrust Arena.  The graduate transfer also grabbed seven rebounds.  Eli Cain added 15 points.  Paul Reed finished with nine points and 14 rebounds.  The Blue Demons (5-1) play at Northwestern on Saturday.

Tuesday’s schedule shows three games with Providence hitting the road for its annual battle against Boston College.  ESPN2 will televise at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.  The two teams will meet for the 113th time.  PC holds a 61-51 edge in the series.  They met 56 times when both were members of the BIG EAST (1979-2005).  Alpha Diallo leads the Friars with a 17.0 scoring mark and ranks second in the league with a 9.1 rebounding average.

The two other games are part of an FS1 doubleheader.  At 6:30 p.m., Seton Hall hosts New Hampshire.  The Pirates (4-3) are looking to bounce back from Saturday’s 70-65 loss to Louisville.  Myles Powell is the BIG EAST’s scoring leader with a 24.1 average.

Marquette hosts UTEP on FS1 at 8:30 p.m.  Guard Markus Howard is the BIG EAST Player of the Week after his 45-point performance in Saturday’s 83-71 win over Kansas State.  The MU defense has stepped up, ranking first in the league in field goal defense, allowing only 38.6 percent shooting.  MU has held its opponent under 40 percent in five of the team’s six wins.  Last year, Marquette held opponents under 40 percent only four times for the season.
