Georgetown 70, Creighton 67
The Hoyas continued to play spoiler, edging the Bluejays by three in Washington, D.C., dashing Creighton’s chances at a second-consecutive BIG EAST regular-season title. Georgetown now has wins over DePaul, Marquette and Creighton, the top three teams in the conference standings. The Bluejays jumped out to a 12-0 lead to open the game but the Hoyas closed the first quarter on a 20-7 run to take the lead with two seconds left in the frame. Georgetown never relinquished the advantage thanks to an 18-point, 14-rebound performance by Cynthia Petke. Down 16 with less than four minutes to play, Creighton sprinted on a 10-0 run but the Hoyas burned 43 crucial seconds off the clock in the final minute to have time run out on the Bluejays. Olivia Elger led Creighton with 16 points.

The Blue Demons moved one step closer to a fifth consecutive BIG EAST regular-season title with a win in Queens. DePaul’s offense lit up in the fourth quarter to pull away late from the Red Storm, stretching a five-point lead into a 17-point advantage thanks to four three-pointers down the stretch. A win for the Blue Demons on Sunday at Seton Hall would clinch at least a share of the BIG EAST regular-season title. Mart’e Grays (17 points, 10 rebounds) and Kelly Campbell (12 points, 10 rebounds) notched double-doubles for DePaul, while the Red Storm saw Tiana England score a game-high 21.

The Golden Eagles remained in a first-place tie with DePaul and claimed their 20
th win of the season, marking their first back-to-back 20-win campaigns since 2006-08. Allazia Blockton (21 points) led four Marquette players in double figures, while The Hall was sparked by JaQuan Jackson’s 13 points. The high-scoring MU offense eclipsed 20 points in the first and fourth quarters to reach the 80-point mark for the 18
th time this season. A win on Sunday at St. John’s for the Golden Eagles would clinch a share of their first BIG EAST regular-season title.

Villanova 70, Providence 43
After an early back-and-forth, Villanova exploded on a 23-0 run, holding the Friars scoreless for over six minutes between the first and second quarters to take a commanding lead. The Wildcats never looked back, setting up a showdown for third place on Sunday against Creighton. Four Villanova players scored in double figures, including a game-high 15 from Kelly Jekot. The Friars were led by Andrea Cooper’s nine points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
