Marquette claims three of four certificates, including both Field Athlete of the Week honors.

BIG EAST Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Jonathan Green, Georgetown, Graduate Student
Competing at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., Green ran a personal best in the men’s 10,000-meter run by more than 30 seconds. The graduate student tops the BIG EAST in the event and is currently ninth in the country. He moves up to third all-time in GU program history.
 
BIG EAST Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Brendan McKinney, Marquette, Jr.
McKinney moved up three spots on Marquette’s all-time list in the hammer throw with the fifth-best toss in school history and a third-place finish at the Wisconsin Twilight. His mark of 56.82 meters ranks atop the BIG EAST this season and is 71st in the West Region.
 
BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Jessica Parker, Marquette, Sr.
Parker finished runner-up in the 800 meters at the Wisconsin Twilight on Saturday. Her time of 1:07.08 just missed setting a personal best and improved to fourth in the BIG EAST this season. It also lists 28th in the West Region and 58th nationally.
 
BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Maya Marion, Marquette, Sr.
Marion broke an eight-year-old Marquette record in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 15.31 meters (50-2.75 feet) at the Wisconsin Twilight on Saturday. Marion’s toss was good for fourth place and extended her top mark in the BIG EAST this season to nearly foot farther then the next closest competitor. It also ranks 42nd in the region and 85th nationally. She also placed 10th in the hammer with a season-best toss of 49.55 meters (162-07 feet), which is sixth in the BIG EAST.
 
BIG EAST Notable Performances
  • Johnny Leverenz led Butler at the Billy Hayes Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., with the BIG EAST’s second-fastest 800-meter run mark of 1:49.10. The PR currently lists 23rd in the East Region and 44th nationally.
  • Xavier’s Grant Stapleton recorded a PR in the 800 meters at Kentucky Relays, a finish (1:52.17) which lists ninth in the BIG EAST this season.
  • Maya Stephens of St. John’s recorded the seventh-fastest 100-meter dash in the BIG EAST this season, winning the event at the Tom Farrell Classic in Queens, N.Y.
  • DePaul’s Gabrielle Howard snapped a school record in the triple jump with a distance of 12.07 meters. The mark leads the BIG EAST and ranks 90th in the West Region. Howard did so at NIU Huskie Classic.
