Villanova senior middle distance runner Siofra Cleirigh Buttner earns All-America First Team honors with fourth-place finish in 800 meters.

EUGENE, Ore. – The 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships concluded this weekend in Eugene, Ore. The BIG EAST was represented by 10 student-athletes across four schools, with Villanova’s Siofra Cleirigh Buttner leading the pack with All-America First Team recognition.

Student-athletes earned First-Team All-America status by virtue of finishing among the top-eight of their events, including as members of a relay team, at the 2018 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Second-Team All-America honors went to those student-athletes who finished between ninth and 16th place. Those athletes who finished 17th through 24th were named USTFCCCA Honorable Mention, but are not to be called All-Americans.
