RV Butler, Providence and Villanova pick up this week’s certificates following impressive wins.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Paige Monaghan, Butler, Sr., F
The reigning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year led RV Butler to two wins last week, including a 4-1 victory over No. 20 Notre Dame on Sunday. For the week, Monaghan totaled seven points off two goals and three assists. Five of those points came against the nationally ranked Fighting Irish, as the senior scored two goals and added an assist. The senior broke into the scoring column against Notre Dame after just 93 seconds, then provided the exclamation point in the 89th. She assisted on both goals in Butler’s 2-0 win over IUPUI as the Bulldogs improved to 3-0 on the season.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Annika Schmidt, Butler, R-Jr., D
Schmidt led the defensive effort in RV Butler’s 2-0 week as the Bulldogs outscored their opponents by a 6-1 margin and more than doubled them in shots. Butler kept No. 20 Notre Dame off the scoreboard until the 69th minute on Sunday, while holding Monday’s foe, IUPUI, to just three shots, outshooting the Jaguars 26-3 in the 2-0 victory.

BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Shelby Hogan, Providence, So., GK
Hogan kept the Friars’ shutout streak alive, earning her third consecutive clean sheet with a 2-0 victory at Hartford on Thursday. Hogan made four saves in the outing, extending her shutout streak to over 287 minutes, dating back to last season. Providence improved to 3-0 on the season with the win over the Hawks, with Hogan playing all 270 minutes this year.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Chloe O’Neill, Villanova, Fr., F
O’Neill sparked the Wildcats to a 2-0 week with wins over James Madison and Lehigh. The rookie notched a goal and assist in each outing to combine for six points on the week. O’Neill’s helper against the Dukes came on Ida DiClemente’s 84th-minute game winner, while her strike in the sixth minute against Lehigh proved to be the game winner in a 4-0 shutout of the Mountain Hawks.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Amber Birchwell, Providence, So., M/F
Birchwell led the PC offense with a goal and assist at Hartford on Thursday, scoring the game winner in the 25th minute before providing the helper on Kayla Steeves’ insurance score in the 58th.
Kyra Carusa, Georgetown, Grad., F
The No. 15 Hoyas remained unbeaten (2-0-2) on the year following a 1-0-1 week, which included a shutout draw against No. 11 Duke. Carusa led the offense with a goal and assist in Sunday’s win over Yale, while totaling six shots on the week.
Mollie Eriksson, DePaul, Fr., GK
DePaul won its lone game of the week, 3-1, against RV Illinois on Thursday with Eriksson between the pipes. The rookie netminder made three saves against the Fighting Illini, including a crucial denial of an Illinois penalty kick which would have put the Blue Demons behind by two goals.
Morgan Kloosterman, Butler, Fr., M
Kloosterman extended her scoring streak to three straight games following a goal in each outing last week, highlighted by the game winner against No. 20 Notre Dame on Sunday. The freshman has only taken three shots, all of which resulted in goals for the Bulldogs.
