BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Ethan Lochner, Georgetown, Sr., M/F (New York, N.Y.)
Georgetown senior Ethan Lochner helped lead the No. 20 Hoyas to a 1-0-1 week as he tallied three points with a goal and an assist. Lochner scored the first goal of an eventual 1-1 double overtime tie with then-No. 10 Stanford, the three-time defending national champions on Monday. His goal came at 65:00. On Sunday, Lochner assisted the eventual game-winner in a 3-1 win over Yale. Lochner assisted the second goal of the game, which came in the 52nd minute after the game had been tied since the fourth minute of play.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Akeem Ward, Creighton, Sr., D (Vienna, Va.)
Creighton defender Akeem Ward produced on either side of the pitch for the Bluejays, which went 2-0 last week with wins at USF and against Memphis. Ward limited both offenses to just seven shots on goal for the week and one goal allowed as Creighton defeated USF 2-1 and shutout Memphis, 2-0. Ward also scored the gamewinner against USF (in the 19th minute), while also assisting on the eventual game-winning goal against Memphis (62nd minute). T he Bluejays have not allowed a goal during 290 consecutive minutes of game time at Morrison Stadium this season, the longest such streak during the same season since 2015.
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Paul Kruse, Creighton, Fr., GK (Heibronn, Germany)
Creighton freshman goalie Paul Kruse worked his way to a 2-0 week in net for the Bluejays as he totaled six saves and a 0.50 goals against average after allowing just one goal to score. Kruse and the Creighton defense has not allowed a goal during 290 consecutive minutes of game time at Morrison Stadium this season, the longest such streak during the same season since 2015. Kruse’s only goal allowed came at USF, where he made three saves. His three-save performance against Memphis on Friday helped him to a .857 save percentage for the week.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Andualem Chisholm, Providence, Fr., F (Attleboro, Mass.)
Providence rookie Andualem Chisholm tallied three points off a goal and an assist in a 2-1 week for the Friars. He had a foot on both game-winning goals in pair of 1-0 victories. The freshman forward assisted the gamewinner in the 74th minute in the victory over Albany, his career-first point. Against George Washington, Chisholm scored the game-winning goal in the 34th minute. Chisholm made his first career appearance this week in a 2-1 loss to Harvard. He totaled 82 minutes over the three games, included 53 against George Washington. Chisholm was also named to the Capitol City Classic All-Tournament team. The games against Albany and George Washington were part of this tournament.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Byan Simons, DePaul, Sr.,M (Roosteren, The Netherlands)
Simons scored the game-winning overtime goal against Drake for DePaul’s third win of the season. He took just two shots on goal. Drake was receiving votes in last week’s national poll.
Colin Miller, Providence, RS-Sr., GK (Bel Air, Md.)
Miller posted two shutouts in a 2-1-0 week for the Friars. He allowed two goals, both in a 2-1 loss to Harvard, in 270 minutes played for a 0.67 goals against average and a .778 save percentage (seven saves on the week). He was named MVP of the Capitol City Classic tournament.
Andres Nota, Seton Hall, So., GK (Rome, Italy)
Nota recorded five saves in a 0-0 double overtime draw against Hofstra. It was the first shutout of his career as the sophomore faced 16 shots.
Conor Bradley, Villanova, Jr., D/M (Havertown, Pa.)
In a 1-1 week for the No. 15 Wildcats, Bradley played a key role at both ends on Saturday, helping keep Penn State in check and then scoring the game-winning goal off a rebound in the 73rd minute. It was Bradley’s first goal of the season.
Simen Hestnes, Xavier, Sr., M (Oslo, Norway)
Tallied four points in a 3-1 win over Cincinnati, scoring a goal and assisting the other two. He assisted on Tomek Pauer's goal in the sixth minute and on Samson Sergi's go-ahead goal in the 80th minute before adding the insurance goal himself following a takeaway in the 88th minute. Xavier in unbeaten in nine consecutive meetings against their crosstown rivals the Bearcats. Hestnes leads the Musketeers with 10 points (4G, 2A).
