BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Istvan Wilhelms, DePaul, So., M (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.)

DePaul sophomore midfielder Istvan Wilhelms scored both goals in a the Blue Demons’ 2-1 double overtime victory over league foe Providence on Friday. It was the first win for DePaul over Providence in BIG EAST play. Wilhelms scored the first goal of the game at the 4:42 mark, giving DPU the early 1-0 lead. After Providence tied it up in the 52nd minute, the game went until the 107th minute before Wilhelms scored the golden goal for the league victory.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Patrick Seagrist, Marquette, Jr., D (Streamwood, Ill.)
Marquette junior Patrick Seagrist played an integral role in a back line that helped hold No. 13 Villanvoa scoreless in the BIG EAST opener on Saturday. Seagrist helped limit the Wildcats to just six shots on goal. Additionally, the junior defender tallied his second goal of his career, in the 77th minute, advancing Marquette’s lead to 2-0. It was Marquette’s first win over a ranked team since defeating No. 7 Akron in the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2013.
 
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Zachary Nelson, Xavier, RS-So., GK (West Linn., Ore.)
Xavier redshirt sophomore Zachary Nelson made 13 total saves in a 1-0-1 week for Xavier against then-No. 6 Kentucky and BIG EAST foe Georgetown. In  league action on Saturday on the road, despite allowing two Hoya goals to score, Nelson set a career high with seven saves in the 3-2 Xavier victory. One of the goals scored was a PK. Earlier in the week against Kentucky, Nelson made six saves en route to a 0-0 tie. For the week, Nelson’s goals against average was 0.90. For the season, Nelson has four shutouts and 0.50 goals against average.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Cameron Belle, Xavier, Fr., M (West Chester, Ohio)
Xavier freshman Cameron Belle scored the game-tying goal on the road in an eventual 3-2 win over Georgetown. It was Belle’s first career goal. Bell tied the game at 1-1 in the 65th minute. Belle also played 36 minutes of the 0-0 double overtime draw with No. 6 Kentucky earlier in the week.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Sven Koenig, Creighton, Sr., F (Westhofen, Germany)
Koenig scored two second-half goals to help No. 25 Creighton defeat Butler, 3-0, in the league opener. Koenig had a career-high six shots on Saturday night, four on goal.
Kyle Zajec, Georgetown, Sr., M (Westport, Conn.)
Zajec scored the opening goal of the game on a penalty kick against Xavier, giving the Hoyas a 1-0 lead in the 44th minute. Zajec also assisted Georgetown’s 2-2 game-tying goal in the 85th minute.
Connor Alba, Jr., G (Waukesha, Wis.)
Alba had three points in the 3-0 win for Marquette over No. 13 Villanova on Saturday as he scored the opening goal of the game and added an assist on the second insurance goal in the 83rd minute.
Lenny Wilson, St. John’s, Sr., GK (Aberdeen, Scotland)
Wilson had a 1-0 week in goal for the Red Storm, marking five saves in a 1-0 BIG EAST victory over Seton Hall on Saturday night.
Matt Nance, Xavier, Grad., D (Washington, Mich.)
Nance assisted all three goal in Xavier’s 3-2 win at Georgetown on Saturday afternoon, while also contributing to Xavier’s fourth shutout of the season, 0-0 against No. 6 Kentucky on Tuesday.
