Arielle Schechtman made eight saves and added an assist to keep the Blue Demons off the board and add to the Hoyas’ scoring as No. 7 Georgetown improved to 2-0 in BIG EAST play. Meaghan Nally needed just 2:13 to get the Hoyas on the board as she buried a corner kick from Grace Nguyen early in the contest. Kyra Carusa and Caitlin Farrell added second-half insurance goals, with Farrell’s being the eighth of the season to lead the league. DePaul posted 10 shots on the afternoon with Jessica Lazo taking a team-best three attempts. Mollie Eriksson had two saves in the setback.

Villanova 3, Marquette 2
Marquette’s late-game comeback attempt came up just shy as Ciara Terabasso scored two goals for the Wildcats who picked up their first BIG EAST win of the season. Terabasso scored in the 34
th and 73
rd minutes while Bri Austin’s fifth goal of the season came in the 59
th minute as Villanova carried a 3-0 lead late into the contest. Alyssa Bombacino got the Golden Eagles on the board on the 75
th minute before Katrina Wetherell cut the lead to one, 3-2, with 25 seconds remaining, but time ran out on Marquette. Maddy Henry had five saves in the setback while Hensley Hancuff earned the win with six saves.

Butler 3, Seton Hall 0
The Bulldogs’ offense was firing on all cylinders as five different Butler players recorded a point, including three different goal scorers. Anja Savich notched her third game-winning goal of the year, striking in the 27
th minute of the contest before Halle Stelbasky and Amanda Kowalski added insurance scores in the second half. Hannah Luedtke and Leonie Doege each made a save as Butler outshot Seton hall 18-2, with both of The Hall’s strikes being on target. Anna MacLean finished with five saves for the Pirates. Butler remains in a first-place tie in the BIG EAST standings after collecting three more points for six on the year.

Xavier 3, Providence 2 (2OT)
A back and forth battle ended in the 102
nd minute as Sydney Schembri notched the golden goal to bump the Musketeers into the six-way tie for third place in the BIG EAST standings. The teams traded goals in regulation as PC’s Hannah McNulty scored her eighth goal of the season to tie for the conference lead in goals (8) and points (17). McNulty’s score came in the fifth minute, but Samantha Dewey responded in the 14
th minute with her fifth goal of 2018. The second half saw a similar trend with Alessandra Arace scoring in the 48
th to give PC a 2-1 lead before Molly McLaughlin evened the contest in the 71
st. Xavier earned a 16-14 advantage in shots, most notably a 4-0 lead in the two overtime periods. Shelby Hogan made six saves in the setback while Toni Bizzarro made six for the win.

St. John’s 2, Creighton 1
The Red Storm earned their first BIG EAST points of the season with a win at Creighton on Thursday night. Samie Scaffidi scored in the 51
st minute for St. John’s, with Lucy Whipp earning the assist, but it was a pair of headers that went awry for the Bluejays that ended in an own goal and gave St. John’s a 2-0 lead. Ansley Atkinson scored for the Bluejays with 18 seconds remaining to cut the deficit to 2-1, but time ran out on Creighton. Meredith Reinhardt earned the win with six saves, while Katie Sullivan also made six saves in the setback.
