No. 11 Georgetown, St. John’s and Villanova pick up weekly awards.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Zsani Kajan, St. John’s, R-So., F
Kajan led St. John’s to a 2-1 week by exploding for five goals and 11 points over the three-game span. The redshirt sophomore started the week off with one goal and one assist in a 3-0 win over Sacred Heart on Monday, before adding a goal in a 2-1 setback Thursday at Drexel. She capped her week off in impressive fashion, recording the first hat trick by a St. John’s player since 2015, burying all three shots she took in a 5-1 win over Stony Brook on Sunday. Kajan had three more goals and seven more points than the second-highest player in the BIG EAST last week.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Meaghan Nally, Georgetown, Jr., D
Nally anchored the defensive unit which scored a pair of road shutout victories last week for the Hoyas. No. 11 Georgetown outshot George Washington and RV West Virginia by a combined 26-23 margin, 16-10 on goal. The loss for the Colonials was their first of the season and the first time they were held scoreless after entering the game averaging 2.3 goals per contest. Nally was also credited with the game-winning goal against the Mountaineers on Sunday, her first score of the season.
 
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Arielle Schechtman, Georgetown, Sr., GK
The nationally ranked Hoyas remained unbeaten on the season thanks to two more shutout victories last week with Schechtman in the cage. The senior blanked George Washington with five saves on Thursday before making four stops at RV West Virginia on Sunday in a 2-0 win.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Hensley Hancuff, Villanova, Fr., GK
In a 1-1 week for the Wildcats, Hancuff totaled nine saves and a .900 save percentage. The rookie made eight saves in Villanova’s narrow 1-0 setback to Clemson on Friday before denying the lone shot faced in a 1-0 win at Brown on Sunday.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Kristin Barbour, Villanova, Jr., D
Barbour was instrumental on both sides of the ball for the Wildcats last week. The defense allowed just one goal in a 1-1 week while Barbour dished the assist on Jasmine Ruiz’s 93rd-minute golden goal Sunday at Brown.
Shelby Hogan, Providence, So., GK
In a road swing against a pair of ranked squads, Hogan made nine saves for a .750 save percentage and 1.50 goals against average, highlighted by a six-save performance in a 1-0 setback to No. 3 North Carolina. She was named to the All-Tournament Team on Sunday.
Jordan Kamp, St. John’s, R-So., GK
Kamp posted a 1-0-0 record last week, combining for seven saves in 135 minutes of work. The redshirt sophomore played all 90 minutes in St. John’s 5-1 win over Stony Brook on Sunday, making two saves in the victory. She played the second half at Drexel on Thursday, making five saves and keeping the Dragons off the board for the final 45 minutes. She finished with an .875 save percentage and 0.67 goals against average.
Annika Schmidt, Butler, R-Jr., D
Schmidt led a Bulldog defense which surrendered just one goal in a 1-1 week as Dayton and No. 19 Kansas were limited to a combined seven shots on goal. No. 25 Butler scored a 1-0 shutout victory against the Flyers as the Schmidt-led back line held Dayton to just three shots on goal. The nationally ranked Jayhawks were kept off the scoreboard until the 85th minute in the 1-0 setback.
Katie Sullivan, Creighton, R-Fr., GK
Sullivan posted two shutouts for the Bluejays’ first two wins of 2018. In matches with Nebraska-Omaha and South Dakota State, Sullivan recorded 1-0 victories. She collected nine saves during the week, facing 48 shots. She allowed two goals, both in a 2-1 loss to Eastern Michigan.
