All 10 BIG EAST teams are in action this weekend with three games on Saturday and two on Sunday.

Saturday’s slate includes a doubleheader on FS1 with Georgetown hosting Providence and Seton Hall traveling to Marquette.  The Friars and Hoyas tip at noon ET with PC still looking for its first win in league play after two losses.  Georgetown is 1-2 in the conference standings.  Providence has taken the last eight games in the series.

Seton Hall plays at Marquette in the second game of the FS1 doubleheader at 2 p.m.  The Pirates are 3-1 in BIG EAST play with Marquette right behind at 2-1.  Both won tight contests on Wednesday.  Seton Hall edged Butler 76-75 and Marquette won 106-104 in overtime at Creighton when the Golden Eagles’ Markus Howard broke the BIG EAST single-game scoring record with 53 points.  Marquette has won three of the last four meetings in the series with the Pirates, including both matchups last season.

The contest will feature two of the top guards in the country when Howard goes against Seton Hall’s Myles Powell.  Howard is first in the BIG EAST in scoring at 25.8 ppg and Powell is second at 22.8.

St. John’s Shamorie Ponds ranks third in the league in scoring at 20.6.  His team hosts DePaul at Carnesecca Arena at 6 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.  St. John’s is 14-2 overall and 2-2 in league play.  DePaul has its own high-level scorer, Max Strus, who ranks fifth in the BIG EAST in scoring with an 18.8 average.  In last year’s meeting at Carnesecca, the Blue Demons won 91-74.

Two games are set for Sunday at noon ET.  Villanova visits Creighton on FOX and Xavier hosts Butler on CBS Sports Network.  In both series, the last meeting went to overtime.  Creighton defeated Villanova 89-83 in Omaha.  Xavier beat Butler 98-93 at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
