Providence, RV/RV DePaul rally to win, 15/14 Marquette and Butler remain on top, Seton Hall continues flawless streak at home.

Providence 67, St. John’s 66 OT
In front of a sellout crowd at Carnesecca Arena, the visiting Friars rallied from an 11-point deficit to edge St. John’s in overtime for their second straight BIG EAST win. PC outscored the Red Storm 15-9 in the fourth to lead by three with six seconds left before Alisha Kebbe banked home a three-pointer to send the game into overtime. PC led by five early in the bonus period before St. John’s rallied back to tie the game for the 10th time with 11 seconds left. Maddie Jolin drew a foul with less than a second left to earn a trip to the line where she made the second of two freebies to lead the Friars to the win. Jolin finished with a game-high 19 points while reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week Mary Baskerville notched her second double-double of the year with 14 points and 10 boards. Curteeona Brelove led St. John’s with her third double-double (15 points, 13 rebounds) while Kebbe scored a team-high 16 points.

Seton Hall 82, Creighton 75
The Pirates never trailed to remain undefeated (8-0) at home this year and snap a five-game losing skid to the Bluejays. Shadeen Samuels scored a career-high 32 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season. The Hall led by 10 at halftime before Creighton stormed back, tying the game with 5:13 left. SHU responded with a 9-0 run and remained ahead by at least two possessions the rest of the way. Jaylyn Agnew scored a team-high 26 points while Temi Carda added 17 to spark the Bluejays. Inja Butina added 21 for SHU while Nicole Jimenez stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals.

15/14 Marquette 91, Villanova 55
Leading by two after the first quarter, the Golden Eagles exploded for a 26-5 second quarter, holding the host Wildcats scoreless for the opening six minutes of the frame to pull away. Natisha Hiedeman led all scorers with 24 points for her fifth 20-point outing of the season, matching the most in the BIG EAST. A total of five Marquette players finished in double figures, while Mary Gedaka led a trio of Wildcats in double figures with 14 points. The win was MU’s fourth in a row and ninth on the year by 25 or more points.

RV/RV Butler 63 Xavier 41
Trailing 11-10 after the first 10 minutes, Butler limited the host Musketeers to six second-quarter points to move ahead at the half before exploding for a 26-point third quarter to pull away. Whitney Jennings led all scorers with 20 points off 7-of-12 shooting – her fifth 20-point outing of the season to tie for the BIG EAST lead. Teammate Katherine strong joined her in double figures with 18. Xavier was once again by A’riana Gray who posted her second 20-rebound game of the season with her BIG EAST-leading eighth double-double of the year. Gray finished with 15 points and 21 boards. The Bulldogs’ 15-1 record is its best since 1980-81 when they won 25 of their first 26 before finishing 26-2.

RV/RV DePaul 69 Georgetown 64 
The Blue Demons erased a 16-point road deficit on Friday night to move into a tie for third place in the Conference standings. Georgetown used a 19-10 second quarter to build up that margin right before halftime, but DePaul came out firing in the third, posting a 29-point frame as the teams entered the fourth tied at 52-52. Dionna White gave the Hoyas a one-point lead with 2:16 to play off an and-one, but GU went silent from the field the rest of the way as DePaul scored the game’s final six points to clinch the win. Mart’e Grays scored four of the final six to finish with a team-high 22, while Kelly Campbell posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards to go along with five assists. Dorothy Adomako led all scorers with 24 points while adding eight rebounds.
