Creighton’s Ty-Shon Alexander scored a game-high 26 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 55.9 seconds left, to lead the Bluejays past Georgetown 91-87 at Capital One Arena.  The result left both teams with a 2-4 record in the league standings.

The Bluejays (11-8), who snapped a four-game losing streak, started four guards who all reached double figures.  In addition to Alexander, Davion Mintz added 17 points with help from Marcus Zegarowski (11 points) and Mitch Ballock (10).  Creighton committed a season-low seven turnovers.  Georgetown’s Jessie Govan posted his league-leading seventh double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds.  Josh LeBlanc and Mac McClung each had 10 points for the Hoyas (12-7).

The only game on Tuesday’s schedule has 18th-ranked Villanova traveling to Butler for a 7 p.m. ET tipoff on FS1.  The Bulldogs have beaten the Wildcats in each of the last two seasons at Hinkle Fieldhouse and have taken three of the last five meetings overall.  Both times at Hinkle, Villanova was ranked No. 1.  Last year, Butler made 15-of-22 from 3-point range while posting a 101-93 victory.  The Bulldogs (11-7, 2-3) are the only team to defeat Villanova more than once over the last two seasons.  The Wildcats (14-4, 5-0) take a six-game winning streak into tonight’s contest.

Two games are set for Wednesday.  Providence plays at Xavier at 6:30 p.m. followed by Marquette hosting DePaul at 8:30 p.m.  FS1 will televise both contests.
