NEW YORK – Marquette’s Tyler Leach and St. John’s Linda Wang have been tabbed BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week and BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week, respectively.  Leach took medalist honors at the Crooked Stick Invitational and Wang won the Towson Invitational.   
 
BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week
Tyler Leach, Marquette, So. – Leach posted his first collegiate win by taking medalist honors at the Crooked Stick Invitational in Carmel, Ind.  The sophomore fired a 6-under 210 (68-68-74) to finish one stroke ahead of Georgia’s Calum Masters.  Leach also recorded the fourth top-10 finish of his career and was under par for the third time.  The Golden Eagles tied for third in the team standings (291-286-302-879) with Northwestern behind first-place Georgia and runner-up Vanderbilt. 
 
BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week
Linda Wang, St. John’s, Sr. – Wang notched her second individual title this fall by winning the Towson Invitational.  She finished with a 3-under 141 for the 36-hole event and won by five strokes.  Wang, who has six career individual titles, posted an even-par 72 in the final round after a 3-under 69 in the opening round.  She led all participants with eight birdies.  St. John’s tied Towson for first place in the team standings, though Towson earned the title based on a tiebreaker.   
 
Men’s Notes -- Freshman Luke Wells paced Butler and led four other BIG EAST teams at the Georgetown Intercollegiate.  Wells finished in a tie for sixth place at 1-over-par 214.  The Bulldog team tied for second place at 862 (+10).  Butler’s Logan Sabins tied for ninth at 215 (70-74-71).  The other BIG EAST teams finished ninth through 12th.  Georgetown was ninth at 890 (+38) followed by Seton Hall at 897 (+45), Creighton at 906 (+54) and DePaul at 909 (+57).  The Pirates’ top finisher was Wenliang Xie, who tied for 15th at 217 (+4) along with the Bluejays’ best, Nate Vontz (72-75, 70), and the top Hoya, Eduardo Blochtein (72-72-73).  The Blue Demons were led by Stephen Sul, who tied for 27th at 222-+9)…Hunter Eichhorn of Marquette finished sixth behind teammate Leach at the Crooked Stick Invitational with a 1-under 215 (69-71-75).    
 
Women’s Notes Butler’s Ally Ross tied for third place at the Dayton Fall Invitational while leading the Bulldogs to a win in the team standings.  The junior shot 73 in both rounds of the 36-hole tournament held at the NCR Country Club North Course.  Butler entered the second round with a one-stroke lead and took the team crown by three strokes over the host Flyers and 12 other squads.  The Bulldogs finished at 605 (+45)…Xavier senior Mikayla Fitzpatrick tied for 55th place with an 11-over 227 at the Palmetto Intercollegiate at Kiawah, S.C.  She had 32 pars and seven birdies.  Fitzpatrick recorded rounds of 73, 81 and 73.  She finished her fall season with an average score of 75.25.  Teammate Andie Shukow was four strokes behind Fitzpatrick at the Palmetto with a 228 (+12).
