NEW YORK-- BIG EAST volleyball action rolls on Friday night as eight teams take the court. DePaul visits Georgetown for a clash in the nation's capital, Xavier travels to Providence, 12th-ranked Marquette visits Villanova and Butler meets No. 11 Creighton at D.J. Sokol Arena.
Saturday sees No. 12 Marquette make the short trip to Georgetown for a 5 p.m. ET match while DePaul will face Villanova with first serve set for 7 p.m.
Weekend action concludes on Sunday with a pair of matches as Butler visits Providence at 1 p.m. and Xavier takes on No. 11 Creighton at 2 p.m.

Week four of BIG EAST action sees one streamed matchup on the BIG EAST Digital Network presented by SoFi, when Xavier makes the trip to Providence. The Musketeers (6-10, 3-3 BIG EAST) look to build upon last week's 1-1 mark while the Friars (5-14, 0-6 BIG EAST) look to earn their first conference win of the season and snap a 10-match losing streak. Xavier leads the BIG EAST in blocks through six conference matches at 2.89 per set. Ellie Chaffee and Jayda Carlton lead the Musketeers at the net with the duo averaging 1.26 blocks per set to land in a tie for second in the BIG EAST. Freshman Lauren Hanlon paces the Xavier attack with 2.61 kills per set. Providence is led by Jennifer Leitman with an average of 3.09 kills per set while Jenae Alderson chips in 1.93 kills per set at a .330 clip while leading the Friars in blocks at .70 per set.

In the final midweek contests of the BIG EAST regular season, St. John's visited Georgetown while Seton Hall traveled to Villanova. The Red Storm and Wildcats came away with wins in four-set matches.
Villanova 3, Seton Hall 1 (25-19,20-25,25-16,25-13)
Villanova (13-5, 4-2 BIG EAST) moved into a tie for third place in the conference standings with a 3-1 win over Seton Hall (7-15, 2-6).
Emma Decker paced the Wildcats with 40 assists while the team racked up 57 kills on the night.
Mallory Potts and
Allie Olsonoski each recorded double-digit kills while three other Wildcats added at least seven. Villanova finished hitting .373 as a team on the evening for the highest mark by the Wildcats in 2019. VU's defense held the Pirates to .185 hitting while libero Regan Lough collected 19 digs. Amanda Rachwal and Haylee Gasser led the Seton Hall attack with 12 and 11 kills, respectively.
St. John's 3, Georgetown 1 (25-23,25-20,22-25,25-21)
St. John's (13-8, 5-3) picked up its second win in a row with a victory at Georgetown (11-9, 1-5) on Wednesday night. Efrosini Alexakou and Rachele Rastelli combined for 38 kills on Wednesday night to lift the Red Storm over the Hoyas. Erica Di Maulo dished out a game-high 36 assists while also collecting 15 digs, two blocks and one service ace in the win. Libero
Amanda Sanabia recorded a match-high 18 digs in the victory to extend her career total to 1,686, good enough for third all-time in program history. Iva Vujosevic paced Georgetown with an all-around performance of 16 kills, three services aces, five blocks, and eight digs.
RPI Report
In the NCAA's second RPI report released on Monday, the BIG EAST boasts two teams in the top-15. Creighton jumped eight spots to No. 10 with a 13-3 record, while Marquette came in at No. 14 at 15-3 on the season. Villanova was at 74th, while St. John's held at 88 to round out BIG EAST programs in the top-100.
In the Polls
In the latest AVCA rankings released on Monday, the BIG EAST boasted two programs ranked in the top-15. Creighton jumped two spots to No.11 for the Bluejays' highest ranking of 2019, while Marquette fell two spots to No. 12. The Golden Eagles have been ranked for 22 consecutive weeks. Also recognized by the AVCA, this week was Creighton's Keeley Davis as the rookie was named Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week.
