BIG EAST Player of the Week
Markus Howard, Marquette, G, Sr. – Howard became Marquette’s all-time leading scorer after tallying 38 points in an 88-53 victory against Loyola (Md.) in the team’s season opener.  He scored 30 points in the first half, which tied him with Jerel McNeal (2005-09) at 1,985 points.  A 3-pointer early in the second half gave the senior the record.  For the game, he shot 11-of-20 from the field, including 7-of-10 from 3-point range, and 9-of-10 from the foul line.  Howard has 1,993 career points. 
             
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Villanova, F, Fr. – Robinson-Earl, the Preseason BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, started his college career in impressive fashion, scoring 24 points and pulling down 13 rebounds – both game highs – in a 97-54 victory over Army West Point.  He became the first true freshman at Villanova to record a double-double in Jay Wright’s 19 seasons as the Wildcat head coach.   
 
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Sean McDermott, Butler, F-G, Sr.
Averaged 19.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week while shot 82 percent from the field.  Scored 26 points in a win against IUPUI.  
 
Charlie Moore, DePaul, G, Jr.  
In a 3-0 week, averaged 19.3 points, 5.0 assists and 2.3 rebounds.  Shot 60.6 percent from the field, 57.1 percent from 3-point range and was 10-of-11 from the foul line.               
 
Omer Yurtseven, Georgetown, C, Jr.
Posted two double-doubles in a 2-0 week.  Averaged 18.5 points and 13.5 rebounds.  Shot 73.7 percent from the floor and 81.8 percent from the foul line.                       
 
Alpha Diallo, Providence, G, Sr.
Recorded two double-doubles and averaged 17.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.5 steals in a 2-0 week.  Had 19 points and 14 boards against Sacred Heart (106-60).
 
Mustapha Heron, St. John’s, G, Sr.
Averaged 27.5 points in a pair of 30-point victories.  Shot 60.7 percent from the field, including 10-of-13 3-point range, and was 11-of-13 from the foul line
