BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Kristen Spolyar, Butler, Sr., G
Spolyar hit a hot streak in a 2-0 week for Butler, averaging a BIG EAST-best 28.0 points, while posting the third-highest rebounding clip of the week at 9.5 boards per contest. She shot .571 from the field and .455 from deep, adding 2.5 steals per game. Against Detroit Mercy on Wednesday, Spolyar scored a career-high 37 points while grabbing 13 rebounds, before going for 19 points and six boards in Sunday’s win over Eastern Kentucky.

Maddy Siegrist, Villanova, R-Fr., F
The New York-native had quite the homecoming Sunday at Fordham, going for a game-high 29 points off 13-of-16 shooting, along with six rebounds and three assists. The 29 points are the most by a BIG EAST rookie since Marquette’s Allazia Blockton went for 31 in the 2016 BIG EAST Tournament Quarterfinals. Earlier in the week at American, Siegrist tallied team highs of 22 points and eight rebounds, making of 9-of-20 attempts from the field and playing 29 minutes of turnover-free basketball. For the week she averaged 25.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and .611 shooting, including a 50-percent clip from deep.
BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll
Mary Gedaka, Villanova, Sr., F
In a pair of road contests for the Wildcats, Gedaka averaged 21.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists, making over 55 percent of her attempts from the field. She went for a season-high 27 points in Sunday’s win at Fordham, making 11-of-16 shots.
Qadashah Hoppie, St. John’s, Jr., G
Hoppie posted back-to-back 22-point outings in a 1-1 week for the Red Storm. She made over 71 percent of her shots from beyond the arc while snagging 2.5 rebounds.
Alexis Lewis, Seton Hall, Sr., F
Lewis led the Pirates in a 2-1 week, averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 steals, highlighted by a 27-point, seven-rebound, five-steal outing against Ivy League favorite Princeton on Friday night.
Sonya Morris, DePaul, So., G
Morris led No. 18/20 DePaul in a pair of Preseason WNIT games with 23.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.0 assists, including a 29-point effort in the Blue Demons’ Semifinal tilt at No. 7/6 Oregon State.
Kaela Webb, Providence, So., G
Webb helped keep the Friars undefeated (3-0) on the year with 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game in a 2-0 week. In 70 minutes of action, Webb committed just one turnover and posted a BIG EAST-best +8.0 assist-turnover ratio.
