#BIGEASTvb Minute: Final Weekend Set With Seeding At Stake
The final BIG EAST volleyball weekend starts on Friday with all 10 teams in action and three matches on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) presented by SoFi. Saturday features just one match as Xavier visits Butler for the second time in two days. Sunday wraps up the conference regular season with four matches and two streamed on BEDN.
The field for the BIG EAST Championship presented by Jeep is set as No. 9 Marquette, No. 12 Creighton, Villanova and St. John’s are set to compete at the Al McGuire Center in Milwaukee on Nov. 29 and 30. Seeding remains up for grabs.
The battle for at least a share of the regular season title and the top seed in next weekend’s championship takes place this weekend as Marquette (25-3, 15-1 BIG EAST) travels to Omaha for a top-15 showdown at Creighton (22-4, 15-1) on Friday at 7 p.m. ET in front of a sold-out crowd at D.J. Sokol Arena. Creighton won the first meeting 3-2 on Oct. 12 in Milwaukee.
St. John’s (19-10, 11-5) visits Villanova (20-8, 11-5) on Sunday at 2 p.m. to decide the third and fourth seed. The Red Storm took down the Wildcats in a three-set sweep on Oct. 10.
The 2019 BIG EAST Championship bracket will be released on Sunday, Nov. 24 following the conclusion of the final regular season match.
