MBB Minute -- Seton Hall Loses to Oregon at Battle 4 Atlantis
Seton Hall’s Myles Powell scored a game-high 32 points, but the 13th-ranked Pirates could not hold on to a 19-point lead in the second half and lost 71-69 to No. 11 Oregon in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis late Wednesday night.
Powell scored 22 of Seton Hall’s 35 points in the second half. Oregon pulled out the win by closing the game on a 14-2 run. Powell leads the BIG EAST in scoring with a 24.2 average. The Pirates (4-2) meet Southern Miss at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
BIG EAST teams have compiled a 48-13 (.787) overall record going into Thanksgiving Day contests.
Three other BIG EAST teams begin their tournament competition on Thanksgiving Day. Providence (4-2) plays Long Beach State in the Wooden Legacy at 2 p.m. ET on ESPNU, which also will telecast Marquette (3-1) versus Davidson in the Orlando Invitational at 6:30 p.m. Creighton (4-1) battles San Diego State in the Las Vegas Invitational at 10:30 p.m. on FS1.
