OMAHA –
The BIG EAST Women’s Soccer Championship presented by Jeep will conclude on Sunday at Morrison Stadium in Omaha with the tournament’s top two seeds meeting at 4 p.m. ET. FS1 will provide live coverage of the title match, which pits No. 1 seed Xavier against No. 2 seed Georgetown. John Fanta and Monika Moore will be on the call for FS1, while Jon Schriner will serve on sideline. The Musketeers are in the tournament final for the first time, eyeing their first postseason crown after winning their first BIG EAST regular-season title this year. The Hoyas are the three-time reigning champions and are headed to the tournament final for the sixth time since 2012. Sunday’s winner earns the BIG EAST’s automatic bid into the 2019 NCAA Championship. The 2019 NCAA Selection Show is set for Monday, Nov. 11 at 4:30 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.

RV Xavier (15-3-2) will look to become the 11th different program to win a BIG EAST Championship. The Musketeers went 7-2 in BIG EAST play this season, avenging one of those regular-season losses to Villanova on Thursday night in the tournament semifinals. Carrie Lewis and Hayley Jakovich scored goals, while Olivia Jenkins had five saves to knock off the Wildcats, 2-0. XU will look to avenge its only other BIG EAST setback of the season when it faces the Hoyas on Sunday afternoon.

Xavier and Georgetown met during the 2019 regular season on Oct. 10 in Washington, D.C. Carson Nizialek buried a pair of first-half penalty kicks to give GU an early 2-0 lead, which XU’s Samantha Dewey halved in the 86th minute with her goal. It was as close as the Musketeers got as the Hoyas hung on for the 2-1 win. Anna Leat and Olivia Jenkins had two saves apiece. Georgetown leads the all-time series, 7-0-1, which includes a 3-1 win in the 2018 BIG EAST Championship Semifinals – their lone postseason meeting.

No. 18 Georgetown (13-3-3) owns the second-longest championship game winning streak in BIG EAST history as the Hoyas have won three straight dating back to the 2016 tournament. The Hoyas are 3-2 in the BIG EAST final, with all three wins coming at GU’s Shaw Field. Georgetown’s lone championship game setbacks came in 2014 in Queens, N.Y., and 2012 in East Hartford, Conn. The Hoyas topped No. 6 seed Providence, 2-0, in Thursday’s semifinals as Kelly Ann Livingstone and Amanda Carolan each scored goals and Anna Leat made three saves.
