16/16 DePaul, Providence, St. John’s, Seton Hall win non-conference finales on Friday.

16/16 DePaul 83, Loyola-Chicago 76
DePaul finished the nonconference season with a 10-2 record while Loyola's loss halted a 9-0 start which is the best in program history. Leading the way for the triumphant visiting team was Chante Stonewall who was magnificent throughout all four quarters with a game-high 25 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Sonya Morris added 17 points and four steals including nine clutch points in the fourth quarter.

Seton Hall 74, Lafayette 60
Senior Shadeen Samuels led four Pirates to score in double-figures as Seton Hall ran away with a 74-50 victory over Lafayette in their non-conference finale on Friday. Samuels had a dominant effort, erupting for a game-high 19 points to go with eight rebounds, four assists and four steals in only 23 minutes of action. The Pirates close the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 7-4 record, which includes victories in three of their last four games. Seton Hall was 27-for-66 (40.9%) from the floor for the game, while Lafayette was 20-for-50 (40.0%).  The Hall was 7-for-28 (25.0%) from three-point range, while the Leopards were 7-for-16 (43.8%).

St. John’s 71, Fairfield 69 OT
Behind a 31-point performance from freshman guard Leilani Correa, St. John's defeated Fairfield, 71-69, in overtime at Carnesecca Arena on Friday afternoon, putting the exclamation mark on non-conference play. With the Red Storm's win, the Johnnies are 5-0 at Carnesecca Arena this season for the team's best start at home since the 2015-16 campaign. That same year, St. John's jumped out to a 5-0 start in Queens before going on to capture the BIG EAST Championship. The victory over the Stags also marked the 150th career-win for eighth-year Head Coach Joe Tartamella. With time ticking down in regulation and the Red Storm trailing Fairfield by two, 62-60, Correa converted on a jump shot off a pass from Tiana England to knot the score at 62 and force overtime.

Providence 48, Loyola Marymount 45
The Friars head home from their Southwest swing, 2-2, and conclude non-conference play with a 9-3 overall record. Chanell Williams led PC with 11 points while Mary Baskerville matched the game high with 12 rebounds. Providence outscored LMU 26-22 over the final 20 minutes to erase a one-point halftime deficit and pick up the win. The Friars forced 21 turnovers, converting the miscues into 17 points.

Florida 67, Xavier 64
Sophomore Lauren Wasylson scored a season-high 15 points on Friday evening as Xavier dropped its opening game of the West Palm Beach Invitational to Florida, 67-64. The two-day tournament is being hosted by Keiser University at the Student Life Center. The Musketeers closed within one point with 12 seconds left in regulation and had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer, but the comeback effort fell short. Xavier dropped to 1-9 on the year, while Florida improved to 8-3 - matching its win total from last season.

RV/RV Arizona State 70, -/RV Creighton 55
Despite a career-high 24 point effort from senior Olivia Elger, Creighton team suffered a 70-55 loss at Arizona State.
The loss ended the Bluejays’ non-conference season with an 8-3 mark, while Arizona State moved to 10-2 overall. Creighton got off to a slow start, scoring eight points over the opening 10 minutes before ASU outscored the Bluejays 25-16 in the third. Creighton won the fourth, 17-15. The Bluejays committed just seven turnovers but the Sun Devils shot nearly 52 percent in the second half to maintain their advantage.

Non-league finales continue on Saturday as Georgetown visits UMES at 2 p.m. ET, Xavier faces -/RV Northwestern in West Palm beach at 2:30 p.m., and -/RV Marquette hosts Belmont at 3 p.m. Villanova will play its second-to-last non-conference contests when it travels to La Salle at 2:30 p.m. The Wildcats have one final Big 5 opponent on their slate as VU will face Penn in January.
