Dionna White and Dorothy Adomako played all 40 minutes and combined for 52 points as Georgetown outdistanced Villanova 76-67 in BIG EAST Women's Tournament Quarterfinals on Sunday at Wintrust Arena.
 
White led all scorers with 27 points and added nine rebounds as the Hoyas (16-14) advanced to Monday’s BIG EAST Semifinals against top-seed Marquette. 
 
Adomako added 25 points for the Hoyas, who overpowered the Wildcats in the third quarter to take command.


 
Mary Gedaka topped Villanova (18-12) with 20 points while Kelly Jekot and Adrianna Hahn added 15 apiece.
 
Villanova led 42-38 at halftime of a brisk, competitive game that featured nine lead changes and four ties through the first 20 minutes.
 
The Wildcats had opened a seven point lead late in the half, a margin narrowed on White’s buzzer-beating 3 pointer. White and Villanova’s Hahn each closed with 15 first half points.
 
Georgetown reversed fortunes with a 29-14 third quarter, including a 14-3 run over the final 3:27.  for a 67-56 lead behind Adomako’s 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
 
Villanova tried to climb back into contention and cut the lead to six in the final minute, but Georgetown hit three free throws to put the game out of reach.
 
The teams split two regular season meetings. Georgetown took a 68-63 decision on Jan. 19. On Feb. 16, host Villanova blew out the Hoyas 91-43, handing Georgetown its most lopsided loss of the season.
 
The Hoyas’ White was a BIG EAST First Team honoree. She ranked among the top five nationally in steals (third), steals average (fifth) and field goal attempts (fifth). 
 
Tourney play continues with semifinals at 3 and 5:30 p.m. CDT on Monday. Tuesday’s championship is set for 7 p.m. and televised on Fox Sports 1.
