NEW YORK – This Week In The BIG EAST Radio Show, distributed by Westwood One, aired its final episode for 2019. Guests on the Episode 10 included Villanova head coach Jay Wright, Marquette junior guard Markus Howard and National College Basketball Writer for Blue Star Media, Dick “Hoops” Weiss.
The 2018-19 season of This Week In The BIG EAST is available for download on iTunes, Google Play and Stitcher in addition to its Westwood One distribution. The show airs on three
Sirius XM stations on Saturdays.
The 10th episode of the season aired on Sirius XM preceding the BIG EAST Semifinals on Friday, March 15.

Providence Journal and is a columnist for
Basketball Times. Rooke and McNamara give a comprehensive look at the teams, coaches, players and storied tradition of the top basketball conference in America in each episode.
In the BIG EAST Spotlight this week is BIG EAST Coach of the Year Jay Wright (7:35), who has guided his Villanova Wildcats to its fifth straight semifinal appearance. The regular season didn’t start the way Villanova would have like it to, but the Wildcats turned it around to earn another BIG EAST Regular Season title.
BIG EAST Player of the Year, Markus Howard from Marquette is in the BIG EAST Focus (23:10). Howard averaged 25 points per game during the regular season, leading the league in scoring. Howard has led the Golden Eagles to their trip to the semifinals since 2010. Howard owns the BIG EAST scoring record with a 53-point night against the Blue Jays.
Longtime college basketball writer Dick Weiss bring the National Perspective (32:15). “Hoops” currently reports for Blue Star Media but has covered the BIG EAST primarily from New York and Philadelphia perspectives throughout his career. Weiss gives his take on the BIG EAST’s chances this postseason.
John and Kevin wrap with “Who’s Go Next” looking ahead to the notable games coming up on the final Saturday. Will Villanova clinch another regular season title? What are the possibilities for seeding for a tournament that starts in five days.
The episode’s “Who’s Hot” segment features audio clips from some recent big performances around the league and a recap of the league’s weekly honors.
