BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week
Corey McManus, Villanova, So., A (Summit, N.J.)
Villanova sophomore attackman Corey McManus scored a weekly league-best seven goals last week in a 15-11 BIG EAST win over Marquette on Saturday. McManus also added a goal in a 10-9 win over Brown for an eight-point week. McManus has 20 goals on the season. His second goal of the game put Villanova up for good, 4-3 with eight seconds left in the first period. It is McManus' second consecutive weekly honor.
BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Colton Jackson, Denver, Sr., M (Highlands Ranch, Colo.)
Denver senior midfielder Colton Jackson netted his eighth career hat trick, first of the season in the Pioneers 16-9 victory over then-No. 19 Georgetown on Saturday. Jackson also added an assist for four points on the day. His three goals came on just four shots against the ninth-ranked defense in the country entering the week. Jackson became the 18
th Pioneer and the eighth midfielder to reach 100 career points since Denver turned Division I in 1999. Jackson also added a goal and an assist in a 14-13 loss at Princeton on Tuesday for a six-point week.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Tate Boyce, Providence, Sr., GK (Matthews, N.C)
Providence senior goalkeeper Tate Boyce earned his second consecutive Defense Player of the Week honor on Monday, third overall, after a 17 save outing in an 8-7 overtime road win at St. John's on Saturday. Boyce had a .708 save percentage between the pipes, a league high for the week. His 17 saves were also a BIG EAST high last week with a 6.69 goals against average during 62:48 minutes of action.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Will Vitton, Villanova, Fr., GK (Summit, N.J.)
Villanova Freshman goalie Will Vitton helped the Wildcats to a 2-0 week with a 15-11 BIG EAST win over Marquette and a 10-9 win over Brown. In the conference opener on Saturday, Vitton posted 15 saves, a career high and second most in the league last week. Vitton also had a 12-save non-conference performance on Monday.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Austin French, Denver, Sr., A
French had six points (4G, 2A) in the BIG EAST opening win, 16-9, over Georgetown on Saturday, one of three Pios to have a hat trick in the game. French also scored three goals at Princeton on Tuesday in a 14-13 road loss for a nine-point week.
Tim Hinrichs, Providence, Jr., M
Hinrichs had a team-best three points in the 8-7 overtime win at St. John's on Saturday. He scored two goals and assisted the game-winning goal 1:12 into the extra period.
Connor Kirst, Villanova, Jr., M
Kirst posted five points during Villanova's 15-11 win over Marquette with two goals and three assists. On Monday, Kirst added four points (2G, 2A) in a 10-9 non-league victory over Brown.
